Detalhes
Program Overview
This volunteer gardening program is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about gardening, sustainability, and community impact. Together, we’ll transform a small backyard and front yard into vibrant, food-producing spaces. The project will also be documented on video to inspire others who wish to grow their own food, even with limited space.
How It Works
1. Orientation and Planning
Volunteers will begin with a detailed orientation to understand the space, goals, and available resources. We'll brainstorm ideas, create a garden plan, and set milestones for the transformation.
2. Soil Preparation and Design
Volunteers will help assess soil quality, add compost or amendments as needed, and prepare planting areas. This includes designing a layout for maximum productivity, incorporating sustainable techniques like vertical gardening or companion planting.
3. Planting and Maintenance
Volunteers will assist in choosing and planting a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs suited for the space and climate. Regular tasks will include watering, weeding, pest control, and ongoing care to ensure healthy plant growth.
4. Filming and Storytelling
Throughout the project, we’ll capture the process on video. Volunteers may help with filming or sharing their experiences and insights, showcasing the steps involved and the transformation achieved.
5. Harvest and Reflection
Once the garden begins producing, volunteers will participate in harvesting and learning how to maximize yields. We'll also reflect on the project, discuss lessons learned, and share success stories through the filmed content.
6. Inspiration Beyond the Garden
The videos and photos from the project will be edited and shared online to inspire others to start their own small-space
