It was my first experience as a volunteer, I admit to being equal with a little fear, but once I arrived I felt so happy. Faro is a small but very pretty town. I met some fantastic girls who shared this journey with me. We worked together, laughed and joked creating a wonderful bond and I'm happy to say that with them I felt at home. The owner Nuno is very helpful and nice.

Fue mi primer voluntariado y me llevo conmigo una hermosa experiencia, pude cocinar que es lo que me gusta, vincularme con personas de muchos países del mundo, conocer playas muy bonitas, salir con nuevos amigos. Todo lo pactado se cumplio, tanto los dias libres, como las horas de trabajo. Se creó un hambiente muy cálido y lindo entre todos los voluntarios, como tambien con los anfitriones 🩷🌎 volvería sin pensarlo!

Muy buena la experiencia, desde el minuto uno te reciben muy bien. La comida muy buena y todo el grupo de voluntarios muy bueno.

Mi experiencia en Faro fue muy buena. Principalmente por las personas que allí conocí que fueron quiénes realmente hicieron la diferencia y no tanto por el trabajo en sí, que si no estás preparado te toma por sorpresa ya que las tareas son bastante exigentes y de mucha responsabilidad para un voluntariado. La ubicación de las propiedades donde me tocó trabajar es céntrica, aunque si bien es cierto que la ciudad no tiene playa y se debe tomar un bus o el ferry para llegar a ella. Agradezco la oportunidad y recomiendo para quién ya tiene experiencia en más voluntariados.

We had a great time! Faro is beautiful, and we met so many incredible people. The lunches were fun because you could interact with people volunteering at other hostels. Also, the scheduling is a bit unorganized and communication was lacking at times, which was a little stressful. The work itself and the hours were reasonable though and what we expected. Overall, we had a great experience and the other volunteers were amazing!! P.S. We expected the beach to be within walking distance, but it is a ferry ride away. Still possible to go often though.

It was a nice and fun experience for us, which in itself was really great. The people working there were open and welcoming, which helped us to integrate quickly. Nuno (the host) didn't quite stick to the things he told us before we arrived, which led to some misunderstandings, so there was kind of a lack of understanding. There was a problem with bed bugs in some rooms, especially for me. The host seemed unbothered and used to the problem. All in all we still had a very good time and made very good friendships.

Nuno (the host) didn’t quite stick to the things he told us before we arrived ???
1- I did stick to all the thinks we talked, you created problem with the rest off the staff not doing the tasks well that mean for the other staff to have to review everything.

2- Bring an extra friend and all you care about is going to party, inclusive having the police for the first time in one off the guesthouse to stop the noise that you girls where making because you where so drunk.

3- Bed bugs problems are solved and where solved, maybe iff the cleaning was better that problem would never exist.

4- its incredible you can 3 disrespectful little girls came to a place to help and force the schedule to be different because off there interesses to party.

I would definitely not recommend this 2 ( 3) to any host.

I was staying with my two friends at the guest house and we had a nice month there. The other volunteers were really caring, welcoming and we did a lot of fun things together. So the best thing about our time volunteering there was definitely meeting new people and gaining new friends. The work there itself was also ok, but you have to be prepared for things like getting the work Plan the night before or kind of being taken advantage of, concerning the work load. Another big thing are the bedbugs. The mattresses are very old and the problem of the bedbugs is not really taken care of.

Tuvimos una mala experiencia, las camas tenían Bed Bugs y el cuarto que nos facilitó el anfitrión tenía Baratas. Lamentablemente le falta bastante higiene al lugar, creo que es necesario invertir para tener al personal en buenas condiciones. Con respecto a los voluntarios, nos recibieron muy bien y son excelentes personas, lamento mucho que tengan que dormir en un lugar poco higiénico (también lo lamento por los huéspedes)

Se eventualmente tivessem estado mais do que umas horas talvez a experiência não tivesse sido má, não me parece que uma barata numa zona histórica da cidade seja um lugar com falta de higiene e acho desrespeito da vossa parte colocar um comentário deste género devido a uma barata, talvez no Chile não existam mas aqui em Portugal existem e não significa falta de higiene.
Ainda bem que temos mais comentários de voluntários que estão por varias semanas ou meses e não apenas por algumas horas.
