The Homestay is a great way to see Vietnam. It is located a little outside of Hanoi but busses go into the city. All around the place are great and cheap restaurants. The people there are amazing. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. It's a great way of connecting with people all around the world and people living there. The work is super easy and the students are very eager to learn and while you talk to them you lean a lot about there life in Vietnam. I am very glad I went there and I meet the most amazing people I have ever met. I would always do it again and would recommend :)

Amazing Experience at Homestay English with Harry! Volunteering at Harry's Homestay was such a rewarding experience! Harry and the community made me feel at home from day one. Teaching English to the students was so much fun, they were eager to learn, and seeing their confidence grow was amazing. The homestay was cozy, and sharing meals ,stories and the other volunteers felt like being part of a family. I also loved learning about the local culture and exploring the area in my free time. If you're looking for a meaningful and heartwarming experience, I highly recommend volunteering here.

We had a nice time at the Homestay! Its location is very good, in a calm area but still close to the city center. The work was pretty easy and enjoyable. The staff was so nice and welcoming. The house is not super comfortable but is ok for a simple life. We would recommend this experience:)

Great location with good food, coffee shops, and university around. You meet wonderful locals. Enjoyed teaching. Found the vibe here sometimes isolating/disorganized but not sure how much was cultural/personal differences. Quiet during day, but lively once class starts (7:30pm) and the night after that. Not much instruction for teaching. You just chat/ help correct mistakes. Do not expect to be given clear instruction; make sure to ask questions. Harry was so nice though not around all the time but texted me often and there are other people around to help. You can ask him questions anytime!

You get to talk to locals and help with their English and this is very meaningful. The hours are also not that much so you have lots of free time. However, I left early because the overal conditions of the homestay are very bad, so I felt uncomfortable. It's dirty and basic necessities like toilet paper and soap are not provided. The room was also full of mosquitos and people were talking late at night even after saying something. Luckily Harry was very understandable and listened to me and will work on it. The place has potential but there are a lot of things that need improvement.

Our volunteering experience had challenges due to poor communication, cleanliness, and organisation. On arrival, there was no proper welcome, and we had to ask about everything. The whole place was cold. Dorms lacked security, and bedding wasn't changed. Bathrooms were unclean, and mould was present. Teaching was more of a language exchange with little guidance. Social spaces were lacking, making it feel isolating. While Harry took some feedback on board, other concerns were dismissed. We left early, as did others. The place has potential, but better organisation and upkeep are needed.

We also want to note that facilities may vary across different countries, and while we strive to offer a comfortable environment, it may not always match the standards you are familiar with in the UK.
While we’re sorry to see you leave early, we appreciate your honesty and will use your feedback to improve the experience for future volunteers.

Unfortunately the conditions were far from what we expected. The rooms and bathrooms were really dirty from our point of view. We were also surprised that we applied as a couple, but couldn't sleep in the same room. This was not really a problem, but it was something that we didn't know of. I'm sorry to say all the above, because otherwise it was a great experience. The people hosting and the other guests were really nice. It was lovely trying to help the students teach English.

A great place to meet locals while helping them improve their English. Classes usually run from 7:30pm to 10pm, so you have plenty of free time to explore the city and visit nearby towns during your free time.

This homestay is the perfect mix between meeting Locals and international travelers. Your tasks will be having English free talk with locals in the evening, so there is still enough time to explore Hanoi/around Hanoi during the day or on weekends. Note that it's 1 hour into the city center and the facility is still improving their clealiness with new ideas/advice. Nevertheless, It was a great and fun experience talking to all the hard working and open students while immersing into their culture. The local stuff is also so welcoming, helpful and easy to have fun with
