I spent 8 good days at Sammy's place in Buon Ma Thout. Sammy was a great host. She cooked delicious meals and made the place feel like home☺️. Sammy enjoys explaining about the Vietnamese culture and makes an effort for you to feel good. We did small tasks such as cleaning, helped with cooking and looked after her sweet son Lukas. This worldpacker experience is perfect if you are looking for an authentic experience staying with a lovely Vietnamese family - but don't expect to do much.

This was the most amazing volunteering experience! During my time with this lovely family I learned about what life is like for a Vietnamese family in a non touristy area - something which is so authentic and most tourists will not experience. I learnt about cooking, village life, family, kids, and made the most special connections with Sammi and her kids. The work is easy and involved helping Sammi with cooking, cleaning and playing with the kids. In return, I got insight into Sammi's story, and understood Vietnamese culture in a unique way. Miss you already Sammi and I will be back soon!!

Feel like home during all of my stay! The tasks are very chill, Samy and Mister Vi are very busy with them job, so the volunteer tasks are quite flexible and chill. Be prepared that it won't be exactly as it is on the volunteer title and caption, but if you're looking for a place to chill and enjoy good food and be around a super friendly and amazing family then it's the perfect place! The neighbours around is also quiet and chill, but very nice! I had a great time even tho it wasn't exactly like I thought it will be, I leave this place with good memories and a new sister (Samy) 🤍

Staying with Sammy is like staying with family. In my short stay I really connected with her and her lovely kids Lavi and Lucas, it feels like I've known them for months and when i got sick Sammy looked after me like I was her own daughter- you'll feel so safe. I'm really going to miss them a lot. The beds are cosy, the food is delicious and healthy (sammy always uses the best fresh ingredients from the market). If you are restless & need activity this won't be for you- the work is housekeeping & looking after the kids- but for me it was amazing. BMT is small but charming. I am so grateful🥰❤️

I stayed at the home with my two best friends. We stayed for 11 days and thoroughly enjoyed Sammy's cooking skills and her enthusiasm for teaching us about Vietnamese culture. The days were very relaxed and we spent a lot of time playing with Lucas (the five year old son) or reading or books. We also did some gardening work but not much. Maybe this was thanks to us staying during Tet… ;) which was an amazing experience. We got to try making traditional Bang Tet, saw the fireworks in the city and even got invited for lunch by locals in the area. Would really recommend!!!

One of the best experiences of my life ☺️ I spent a week at this beautiful family's house and I felt part of it from the beginning. Sharing everyday life with them was very enriching, I learned about coffee, gardens, local food, practiced my English and was very connected to the children (who, by the way, are adorable). Sammy and Esther (the hosts) are amazing, sweet and attentive to all your needs. I am vegan, and Sammy makes a point of preparing something vegan, delicious and nutritious every day💚 If you want to immerse yourself in the local culture, this place is the right one :)

Sam is a great host and her family is lovely! Kids are a bliss! It's a nice place, not much to do in the town tho. We left early as the tasks described were not at all what we got and problems with our travel schedules. It was hot days, and that's why we didn't do anything outside the house, but we exclusively took care of the children for hours. The food is delicious, and she takes care of us tho, if you don't mind not doing much is OK, but try to agree 100% on the tasks beforehand and make some planning over it. The stay was comfortable and we made good friends in Vietnam:)
