From the moment I arrived, Mauna welcomed me into the community. I was quite shy, but his openness & kind encouragement helped me come out of my shell & reconnect w personal interests I'd forgotten. I really felt part of a tribe here, included & valued. I quickly learned many skills, like foraging, cooking, living off-grid (i.e. rainwater for daily use, making conserves from foraged olives etc). Mauna is a generous host, passionate about sharing his knowledge on ecology, holistic practices & more. He also offered Reiki, which I found deeply healing. Feel v grateful for the special experience

Merci Mauna pour ton accueil. On se sent comme à la maison. A 57 ans, je viens de vivre ma première expérience de woofing, et j'avoue que ce que je viens de vivre me donne envie de recommencer… Le lieu, le site sont incroyables : pleine nature entourée d'oliviers, vue sur la mer avec plongeon en moins d'un quart d'heure, Raguse, Caltagirone...à proximité. C'est une petite structure, ce qui me convenait parfaitement. Les travaux sont variés, et chacun peut trouver sa place, apprendre de nouveaux talents tout en apportant sa contribution (olives, compost, réparation, entretien...

I spent two weeks at the Shangrilà eco-village and it was a very interesting and instructive experience. Mauna is a very knowledgeable person and very good at making you feel at home. I spent some pleasant days immersed in nature and silence. Even though it was my first experience in this type of village, Mauna always tried to involve me in daily and spiritual activities. He was very patient in explaining my tasks and very open to discussion. This certainly helped make this experience authentic and truly impactful. I thank Mauna for this opportunity and hope to return soon!

I loved my time at shangri-la! everyday was full of learning and i felt greatful every single day to be there. From the stunning nature and amazing seaview to the insightful conversations i was able to have with mauna. i was able to learn a lot about gardening, cooking, spirituality, sustainabilty and all about ecovillages :) i totally recommend the community

Un lugar hermoso en medio de la naturaleza, para el que le gusta la montaña y también el mar. Una casa muy cómoda y muy cálida, un verdadero hogar! Aquí se aprende de todo un poco y se comparten momentos y experiencias únicas! Ideal para aquel que quiera tener la oportunidad de vivir de una manera diferente, sobre todo con ganas de estar tranquilo y en paz.

Grazie Eliseo, la tua presenza e` stata una benedizione in un momento delicato del nostro progetto. E` stato tutto un crescendo di esperienza da tutti i punti di vista sia quelli pratici che umani e spirituali. Dopo 1 mese e mezzo ti sentivamo gia` un fratello pronto ad unirti al nostro progetto.

My experience in the community was very rewarding. I learned many new things. You can see a project that aims to create a sustainable community environment. The tasks I carried out as a job were very fun. Mauna is a very kind person and is always willing to help you. The location It is beautiful, you have a spectacular landscape from the moment you get up in the morning until you go to bed at night, a very good experience to which I hope to return one day.
