I arrived during a summer camp for local students. As such, my first week of volunteering was spent helping out with and participating in the daily activities, which included cave exploration, mountain scaling, paddleboarding, etc. It was a good opportunity to interact with the children and their parents. The second week was dedicated to farm work which included pruning trees, weeding and watering crops, fertilizing roots, etc. There were also other tasks to help out with such as reception, cooking, collecting goods from the pier, etc. Overall, a unique and invaluable experience.

I really liked the experience! The farm is really beautiful and the location is amazing, everything is surrounded by nature and mountains. The work was different everyday and some of the tasks were really interesting. Despite all of this there were some problems with communication. A lot of the times I was really confused about the work hours and about the tasks themselves. Majority of workers also do not speak English so sometimes I could barely understand what I needed to do. Overall I think it was still worth it, and I'm really thankful to Leo for letting me stay and work with them!

The project is in a very peaceful and beautiful location. Volunteering here is the best way to explore the Yangshou region. The farm itself is beautiful with cute dogs and cats but beware the aggression of the goat. There is different work to do everyday and its usually fun and allows room for some creativity and independence. Very tranquil place to disconnect from the busier parts of China and get your hands dirty doing fun things and meet some other people!

Sid is a very good person. You are very responsible, and the aunt praises you highly, admiring the way you mow the lawn so cleanly. You can complete every task assigned to you with diligence. Thank you for your contributions to Nirvana Organic Farm Inn. I recommend you to any other workpackers.

This is a super cool opportunity if you like to immerse in a local culture. It's not overly touristy nearby and there are plenty of fun things to do and places to hike! You also get to do fun things on the weekends and meet locals. The only thing I would suggest is that communication could be a bit better. Often times it was confusing what was supposed to be done or wanted of us. Overall, I would suggest coming here for a great experience!

Jasmine is a nice girl. You are very responsible and always able to complete the tasks assigned to you by the aunt. On Children's Day, you had a great time playing with the kids, and the painted fan you created is very beautiful. You have left us with very good memories.

It was my first experience with Worldpackers and it was really great . The place is absolutely wonderful, the mountains are breathtaking, it's really beautiful and quiet. I think it's a really good way to discover a part of China that is not that easily accessible, and to meet really nice locals. The room was very comfortable, and the work was not too hard. Therefore, I think the communication could be better, and the working hours could be arranged better to leave volunteers more time to visit the area. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you Leo, and all the project team !

Elsa is a wonderful girl. She arrived during the rainy season, wearing a raincoat. She went to the passion fruit orchard, climbed a ladder, and pruned all the dead branches from the passion fruit plants. The aunt praised her for being a very responsible person. Thanks to her efforts, two months later, we were able to enjoy the passion fruits from the orchard she had taken care of. We appreciate her hard work.

We stayed two weeks at the farm of Leo and his wife and we loved everything about it. The first week it was a camp with kids which was so fun to join with them to do activities like hiking and visiting caves. The week after we worked in the garden and we loved it so much working together with the staff, who were always super friendly and cooked amazing food. The rooms were super nice and the environment was magnificent between the mountains. Best experience we had so far with Worldpackers and I would recommend everybody to do the same!

Thank you, Pieter and Jasna. You are such a wonderful couple. Pieter built an excellent trellis for growing passion fruit, and Jasna did a fantastic job with the gardening. Together, you hosted numerous activities for us, including rock climbing, exploring wild caves, and trekking to the top of Damian Mountain. Those are cherished memories. Thank you both so much.

I spent two wonderful weeks at the project. Putao, Stone and the aunties were so welcoming. The work is really interesting, between gardening and welcoming groups, I learned a lot. Obviously the place is incredibly beautiful, there is plenty to do in the surrounding area, and the amenities are also very good. It is with a pang in my heart that I leave this place which truly bears its name the project. It's obvious that I will come back there during a future trip to China, I have the impression of having found a family here.

Your previous work experience involves being a teacher who cares for special children, so you are especially capable of organizing activities and understanding the children. We held an event together on Arbor Day, and you had a great time playing with the kids. Thank you for your love for the children and your professional dedication. Thank you!

We had a really lovely time staying here for two weeks. The location is idyllic and very peaceful. As climbers, we appreciated having a few routes onsite and being able to borrow gear from the farm. The accommodation and food were fantastic. My work wasn't quite as expected as I ended up spending most of my time helping to develop a new website. Communication around responsibilities and tasks could be improved as there were a few times when I wasn't sure what exactly we needed to do, or whether we were responsible for something. Overall, I would recommend - a fantastic opportunity.

Ella and James are nice couples. James helps lots of gardening and permaculture things. Ella helps lots of making the new website.
Ella always has the new ideas. The special moment is that we make the bamboo weaving for the local handcraft master. And we go to the river to catch the fish. Thank you so much for your helping.

I had a great experience at the project. I loved exploring the area (very beautiful & scenic), meeting locals, learning about permaculture and practicing Mandarin. Most workers were friendly and especially the gardenist (Yu Āyí) is a very lovely elderly woman. Also Leo and Snow are great hosts. The highlights were Saturdays, cause we (the volunteers) got to rock climb, cave explore and take part in huge feasts. The only issue which lead to some frustration was the poor communication. I hope the host & workers improve that in the future. Besides that, it was great & I can only say XieXie✌
