Muy buena experiencia personal pero lamentablemente la organización y la gente a cargo de la ONG no los vi interesados en el futuro de los niños sino en conseguir dinero para la escuela y para los gastos asociados a su casa, ya que viven del dinero de la escuela. No necesitan gente que les ayude a construir ni que enseñe a los niños, solo necesitan gente que les recaude más dinero. La ONG y lo que aportan los voluntarios es tiempo con los niños y dinero para que los niños que no pueden permitirse ir al colegio y comer lo hagan. El ambiente no fue bueno en la casa.☺️

you were self centered person with your girlfriend, not social with us and selfish, its sad for you to say that we are not interested in the children future when you don't know how we started. you even didn't take time to know what plans we have for them, your thinking is not our thinking. saying that we only care about money sorry for you. we didn't ask any money from you, and no donations you offered to us
and to let you know and understand no organization or project that works without money
if you cant support financially just be silent
we do need volunteers with an open to help not to have cheap stay,
that's why you didn't see that we need help in construction, teaching, game and sports, photography, social media
you purpose was to travel not to help

Lamentablemente no vi a los responsables de la ONG comprometidos con el colegio. No necesitan personas que les ayude a construir a enseñar, solamente necesitan financiación. No estaba definido donde iba destinado el dinero. En cuanto a la convivencia en varias ocasiones los responsables de la ONG generaron mal ambiente entre los voluntarios y con los habitantes de la casa, hasta llegar al punto de ni decir buenos días o adiós el día de salida. En cuanto a mi experiencia fue genial, pero no recomiendo este voluntariado.

am more then concerned about the school, we do need volunteers that are willing to do with an open heart, not volunteers who just come for cheap stay, take photos, pretend that they have come to help yet no
our finances are well explained in our pages, remember you were eating, using the water, power, sleeping, construction going on, school running that automatically explains the finances
we didn't create a bad atmosphere for you its you that created it since you were not social with us, selfish and only speaking in Spanish and only thinking of partying.
we didn't say bye because we didn't know of your departure plans you and your boyfriend didn't recognize us as hosts you were self centered

The project is really nice, and Emma is a great host! But Lydia made things at home feel uncomfortable. Me and other volunteers felt pressured to raise a lot of money to be seen as good volunteers, which is sad because we came to the organization with different expectations. When we did activities outside of work hours, we always felt guilty because of her, which is very unfortunate as we had no bad intentions but were portrayed as bad volunteers… I the organization Lydia's behavior changes towards the volunteers because it greatly affects the experience. Still, I'll never forget this experience ❣️

I had such an amazing time, Emma is a really great host. It was really fun and the kids are lovely, everyone welcomes you very nicely. The only problem was at home, a lot of money was asked by one of the hosts (and it was never enough), and we (with other volunteers) sometimes felt uncomfortable. Nevertheless, I spend such a great time in school, with other volunteers and in town. Jinja is such a lovely place !!

Lydia and Emma was sweet and invited me to be a part of their home. They both did what they could to help me, and I am greateful for that. The kids at School are also sweet and it is a beautiful projekt.

I like so much my time at the organization even tough i did not stay so long. Emma and Lydia treat me like family, making me very comfortable. The kids at the house are so polite and funny, so everytime you can hangout and have fun with them. The school is so organized and its a wonderrul project. The kids at school have a true oportunity to learn and thats amazing. The teachers are so smart and capable of teaching and taking care of the children. the organization is amazing and beautiful :)

I felt at home and even though I stayed there for a short time I really was part of the family. I love that I was able to organise some activities in autonomy and to suggest new ideas.

I think it's a really good place to volunteer. On the one hand, the hosts are very kind, friendly and make you feel part of their family. On the other hand, at school I also felt very welcome, all the staff is amazing and the children are lovely. Thanks for everything.

Emma and Lydia, words can't describe what I have lived with you this past month. A simple thank you would not pay tribute to how well you have welcomed me in your home and made me part of your family instantly. The children at school are absolutely lovely and they appreciate so much all efforts done, from teaching to helping with homework. The teachers are equally welcoming and will make everything to make you feel you are part of it and you have a role to play. Special shout out to Brenda and Teddy. Life at home was so heartwarming, the boys are my brothers at heart. Thank you for everythin

I would highly recommend this program to anyone. I stayed for 2 weeks with Emma, Lydia & all the kids & I can honestly say they are the most beautiful, selfless family I have ever met. They care so much about the children in their community and the school is incredible. Emma arranged a safari weekend which was the highlight for me. This program is very good value for money compared to others I have looked at and you have the most heart warming, eye opening experience. It's been life changing.
