I was initially hesitant to stay for a whole month, thinking I might get bored—but I was completely wrong! There are stand-up paddle boards and e-bikes to borrow. It's very close to the river, a waterfall, a castle, the town and the Tolmin gorge. The area is full of charming villages and great hikes. The photos really don't do it justice—both the hostel and the surroundings are even more beautiful in person. Summer in Tolmin also brings tons of music festivals! And Katja, the host, is incredibly kind, patient, and flexible. She truly cares about her volunteers and guests alike.

Katja is an amazing host, she's like a mother for every volunteers. I had a so beautiful and perfect moment with her and her family. I needed to leave a little bit sooner for personal reasons, and she was so understanding and comprehensive. I recommend this position to everyone who want to enjoy nature and be with a loveful and amazing host. Thanks you Katja for everything, I will never forget.

Volunteering at Katjas Place was just amazing! I had a great time here. The hostel is quite small, what I loved because the vibe is so nice and personal. Tasks were easy and Katja helped me out a lot🫶🏼Also, there is quite a lot of stuff to do in the area. If you love hiking, good vibes, nature and peace you should definetly come here! It is a bit easier to reach things/new spots if you have a car, but Katja provides bikes as well. Thank you so much Katja☺️

Katja was so fun and kind, the town was so cute and the nature was beautiful, the water and the atmosphere was peaceful and zen. That's the way life feels there. Katja was so helpful and sweet to be with. I highly reccomend this experience for someone who enjoys a slow quiet summertime job

I had an amazing time with Katya and her family! I felt at home and always cared for. We had some great conversations and the area is absolutely gorgeous. Katya loves what she does and you can really feel it :) I recommend this experience, if you want peace and quite. I will def come back to visit!! Thank you so much <3
