I couldnt recommend milo and sonia and their project enough!! It was an amazing experience and I am so glad I got the chance to do this here with some amazing people!! Memories of a life time made!

Expérience incroyable, les hôtes font tout pour qu'on se sente bien accueilli tout au long du séjour, l'endroit est magnifique et fait rêvé, toutes les activités sont super intéressantes. Quant aux tortues, en plus d'en apprendre beaucoup sur leur vie, pouvoir les observer d'aussi prêt et les accompagner dans plusieurs étapes de leur libération dans l'océan est tellement émerveillant. Il n'y a même pas de mots qui puissent décrire ce sentiment ☺️

Milos and Sonia were the most welcoming and friendly hosts! The work they do to help the sea turtle population is incredible and I feel honoured to be able to have helped them with their work. They made sure we were given so many opportunities to see the turtles as well as experience the local area and culture. Plus Sonia is one of the best cooks!

This is perfect for people who want to experience the slow life in a picturesque location. There are quite a few excursions that you can do which are great fun but do cost extra (Surfing, horse riding $60, whale watching $50). As they say it is very rural which means very few tourists which is lovely, however you have to factor this into your activity cost as the taxi to the pier is about $5 each way. The food was expertly cooked by Sandra (if you don't like rice and beans it may not be for you so bring snacks). Emma is a great host and very helpful when booking tours.

This volunteering experience was truly unforgettable. Milo was incredible. He explained everything so clearly and with so much passion. Thanks to him and Emma, I learned a lot about sea turtles and their conservation. Being able to help protect them, and watching the baby turtles reach the ocean, was one of the most emotional and magical moments of my life. This was my very first volunteer experience, and it honestly couldn't have gone better.

I had the most amazing experience at Tortuga the shelter!!! Milo was an amazing host, he has dedicated his life to saving sea turtles and it is truly inspiring. Sonia made delicious meals and the accommodation is right on the beach. I highly recommend this experience to anyone and everyone!

Gracias por todo Milo y Emma! I had such a great time with the hosts and other travelers on this trip and I can't stop talking about how fun my experience was! Milo made sure that the main door was fixed when the lock needed replaced and Emma was amazing at helping us with excursions and explaining what was going on. We weren't able to see any turtles hatch, but we were able to catch a turtle lay her eggs and then retrieve them. They gave us many opportunities to go on turtle duty so if you didn't want to go one day, there will always be tomorrow. I would absolutely go back and do this again!
