Minha experiência era para ajudar na recepção, limpeza e HouseKeeping. Contudo, o anfitrião me pediu para lixar, pintar cadeiras, mesas e paredes sem equipamento de segurança, luvas, óculos de proteção ou roupas, sozinho durante todo voluntariado. Acabei estragando minhas roupas e essa não era a experiência esperada. O lugar era lindo, perto da praia e tinha pranchas pra surfar o que foi a única coisa boa da experiência. Evitei qualquer voluntariado que envolvesse obras ou manutenção pois queria ter mais contato com pessoas para praticar idiomas.

Lamentável para nós ler um comentário deste.
Fomos claros nas mensagens anteriores (infelizmente não foi possivel postar aqui) que o hostel ainda estava fechado e que precisaríamos de ajuda nos preparativos de reabertura. Tínhamos varias tarefas distintas a serem feitas, e antes de delegar qualquer função para o João, perguntei se ele tinha experiência com pintura. A resposta que recebi foi um sim, porque ele também já teve um alojamento. Nesse momento, poderia ter dito que não queria essa função. E foi avisado sim que, qualquer material que ele precisasse, era só pedir que seria disponibilizado. Então você sujou sua roupa e fez serviço que não queria por falta de comunicação sua. Tínhamos material para fornecer.
Poderia muito bem ter pedido para trocar de função, mas preferiu sair antes do prazo, mostrando nenhum comprometimento.

Lugar maravilhoso com pessoas maravilhosas. Não tem outra forma de descrever🥰 O hostel é perto de tudo na costa e tem uma vibe contagiante. Um ótimo lugar para se conectar com pessoas e com a natureza. Indico mil vezes 💕

Todos me acolheram com imenso carinho e respeito, construi um vínculo de amizades que nunca me esquecerei, foi uma troca muito especial! O espaço é lindo, com bastante natureza, viver um tempo num lugar assim foi como um presente pro meu emocional <3 sem contar que o hostel fica pertinho da praia e do centro da Costa da Caparica... sou muito grata por toda essa experiencia, espero voltar pra cá novamente algum dia

The owner Marcelo is committed with the hostel in order to provide a good experience to the guests and also volunteers. It was a great experience as it is a Surf Hostel. As i was able to stay for quite long time, I could get some knowledge about surf life, enjoying summer at the beach of Costa da Caparica and also contributing to the hostel, meeting nice people and surfing. The schedule was flexible, as it was three days in a row and you got kinda of 2d off, it didn't felt like those intense weeks of summer as the season usually can be. Nice people, live music and surf.

I really liked my stay at the hostel! Marcelo is such a kind and welcoming host, always making sure everyone feels comfortable and at home. The work is easy to do — there's a clear list of tasks for each shift, so it's simple to follow and stay organized. The hostel has a really cozy and chill vibe, perfect for relaxing or hanging out. You can also grab a surfboard and walk to the beach in just a few minutes, or take a bike to explore the area. I felt really welcome here and would definitely come back!

The hostel was a true pleasure! Being to many places, this was the most stress free environment I've been apart of. Marcelo is very open minded and applies feedback changes when needed, communicative and organized as well. Really enjoyed the Thursday night events and the wonderful majestic beaches. With the bikes, you can explore even more. Only thing is the living space which he's trying to improve. The team was kind and very chill. I really appreciated the opportunity! Thanks Mr M!

My 2 months at the hostel have felt short, but nonetheless, in this fraction of time, I was able to immensely build on myself and create a real family there. I have met new travelers on a daily basis, waves of people coming and go, which if you re not used to, can get really exhausting. Luckily, I never felt it. The people there offered me the space and love to be at my fullest self around them and the beauty and uniqueness of the hostel had brought in only beautiful souls and exciting storytellers. Every single day spent there has been an adventure I will never forget. Thank you ❤️

I had an amazing time here. Marcelo has been a lovely host throughout the entire experience and is always ready to help when needed. The hostel has an incredibly relaxed vibe and all the guests and volunteers I have met during my stay were very nice. The tasks are simple and the schedule structure is very good, allowing for variety and also a lot of free time. Surfing and biking here are lovely activities I will definitely miss doing, just as I will miss staying at the hostel in general. THIS is how you da hostel experience for volunteers, no doubt about it.

Accommodation was not a shared dorm as it says on the app which is why I had to leave early and would recommend female volunteers to ask about it beforehand.
