Arusha is amazing. At school, the staff appreciates every effort you make. The children are lovely. If you're thinking about volunteering, you definitely should. Marko and Sam helped us a lot. We are very thankful. However, we found out that we were not working for "the organization", to which we had fundraised, but for "Beyond Child Smile". We also weren't given a certificate and were told on our last day that it was only for people who stayed a month. Marko was able to make us a recommendation letter (which, unfortunately, is not enough for uni credits). Overall, it was an incredible opportunity!

I had stayed two weeks hosted by (Beyond child smile), they have very good potential in helping their country and giving back to the community. You will learn a lot by teaching students and living in Sanawari village, which is very peacefull place and has amazing people whom will welcome you every time with a smile. The host is honest, caring and good people in general, the room you will be staying varies from house to house. Their food is good and mostly vegetables and fruits (Too much carbs). You will miss chicken and beef for sure. Overall, it is an experience you will not regret!.

My experience was so amazing in all possible ways! Being with the kids changed my life and I will never be the same. Spending almost a month there was enough to make me fall in love with them and the country and allowed me to make so friends as well. Go prepared for the library, there are a lot of kids but it's worth it. My host family was so nice to me and made me feel at home despite being in a totally different environment and culture. Marko as well was always there to help me, check on me and make sure I was okay and enjoying everything. Everything was a bless!

This experience was memorable and incredible! the mentors of the project, Sam and Marko were super kind and helpful with every detail and with all the volunteers, they were always available to help with any problem. My host family was also very friendly and kind to me, they made excellent dishes (except the fried and cooked bananas). ^^ Volunteering in the public library was undoubtedly essential and very important in that small village, because there are many children with serious learning difficulties. Were three very gratifying weeks, I only regret for not having stayed any longer ...

I was a volunteer for two weeks. I had never done any volunteer work before. The experience was exactly what I wanted it to be. I got to stay with an amazing family and I got to help and teach the kids at a school. The number one reason I wanted to volunteer in Africa was that I wanted to get to know the African culture and experience every day African life. Volunteering with the organization gave me precisely that. I taught 2-4 lessons, each 40 minutes every weekday before lunch and one longer lesson in the afternoon. The best thing for me during my weeks in Arusha was hanging out with my host

A fantastic experience made even more memorable by Marko and his family)) The placement in Shining Star was above what I expected, the teachers, students and the girls that made the porridge every day made it worth getting out of bed for. Thank you to Marko, BibI, Conjepta, Ellia, Rede, Rita, Deborah, Abe, Damian and everyone in the Sanawari area for taking us in and looking after us like your very own family. To Sam in the library thank you for all the help with Kiswahili)))) The little people there and at school I will miss...…..a lot. asante and poka poka my Tanzanian family.

For me was a really life experience, all the family are so lovely and they took care of me as a daughter. I learn a lot of things for my personal life and, a lot of things about the culture, african lifestyle and also with the kids. I recommend to everyone who wishes to live, help and learn in a different and excellent way.

It's another awesome experience to host a Spanish guy to our project and he's perfect, Charming, and so fun to all people in our village and so friendly to our children's. I will recommend 100% to other host and you will not regret to work with him. Asante sana for your help in our library and wish all the best for your future success.
