I had a great time with Franco! Learned about local food and getting to explore alberobello and the surrounding area by bike was really nice. Franco was a great host, my only recommendation for people applying is to bring warm clothes as the house was a little chilly :)

My experience at Franco's farm was positive but could be improved. While Franco and his family were lovely, the work schedule was inflexible, limiting free time for exploring, because working in the morning and afternoon makes it very difficult, since the farm is an hours walk from alberobello (the closest city from where you can catch a bus or train to other places) and 40 minutes by bike. There were issues with insufficient food, uncomfortable accommodations, and feeling more like an employee than a volunteer. Improvements in these areas are needed for a better experience.

Only in summer we divide our activities in 2 different times morning and afternoon, because mid day is too hot, this guy comes to go at beach during weekdays. I’m flexible only when I can and surely if you ask in polite way. Beds are good for who work a lot and tired at night, till now all volunteers liked. I offer vegetarian food , more than it’s possible eat any 2 or 3 days for not wasting and sometimes to who is respectful and polite and patient I offer extra food only to who deserve it making activities perfectly , (surely if you ask me directly you lost that gift) . I explain more than 1 times , till many times how to make perfectly the activity only to who is lazy and incapable. Volunteering means go to give more than what you take, a lot, a lot more , dear Danilo put down your head Pride is the evil of this world

Franco and his family are only just starting their World Packers "career" so give them a chance. Communication is key. Like always, you need a few days to adapt, so does he. If you communicate your needs and issues, you are very likely to achieve the result you are looking for. Francesco is a busy person so help him help you. The area is quiet and remote. Use your free time to walk to Alberobello and choose a different route every time. Cute trulli, olives, wine. I cannot give 5/5 because the pool is broken and empty.

Live in a Farm is meant working into nature, be farmers means work to the nature. There’s no timeline with nature, just be busy , busy and happy to be busy all day ; of course who come here looking at clock all day and stop at fixed minute will feel bad to waste time later coz bored. Swimming pool is the point? The point is : enjoy to do my activities to try to get what is the meaning to be Franco in my farm that you will try that only here and when finish give me the gift to help me to repair swimming pool or repair bikes to be used at free time from all other volunteer coming after you. This is the point. Work more means give love

Franco es una gran persona y el trabajo estuvo bien, tiene una familia muy linda!! Sin embargo hay cosas por tener en cuenta, que por ejemplo las fotos no son como esta el lugar ahora, son fotos muuy viejas, para ir al centro/supermercado hay que caminar 1h y no hay transporte alguno que te lleve ahí, tampoco hay wifi como dice en el perfil. Si quieres estar en un lugar totalmente desconectado es el lugar perfecto para ti, de lo contrario no lo recomendaría.

How sad to know there are people like this girl, it saddens me so much to see people unable to get out of their intoxicating city life. Guys wake up, you are sleeping, you are drifting, having a fixed goal in the land, in the countryside, without comforts is salvation

Franco es una persona amable y generosa, pero lamentablemente tuvimos que irnos antes, el lugar tiene mucho potencial, pero la fotos son muy antiguas, también siento que debería haber más información sobre el lugar y no hay internet, tuvimos que cocinar nuestra propia comida. Él y su familia son muy buenos y hospitalarios

This guys told me they study and work as chef and then complains if has to cook for himself? Maybe he was looking for a holiday? They chose me for the photos of my place so they were fake volunteers, that is tourists disguised as volunteers. Apart from that in my ad everything is written and explained perfectly what I offer
