From the moment my girlfriend and I arrived, the hosts made us feel right at home. Whether during our working hours or on our days off, they were always around to chat, tell us the story of the eco-park, share meals together, or simply enjoy a fika while we exchanged stories about our travels and lives. Without a doubt, we'll be coming back to this magical place!

Our month of volunteering was amazing. Although it was low season we had an unforgettable experience. We shared quality time with Håkan and Ülika, learned a lot about Swedish culture and tasted amazing dishes. The place itself is beautiful and the nature is immense. If you love nature, this is the place for you. As for the chores, they are simple and you have to take care of the place as if it were your home and always be attentive to what is needed. We would definitely recommend it and would love to come back someday! Thank you Ülika and Håkan!! ❤️

Ulrika and Häkan welcomed me very well! They gave me a comfortable room and offered me all the amenities of the hotel. I spent a month in the low season in winter. I was the only volunteer. And the work was flexible and varied. So I had time to get to know the Ecopark that surrounds the Hotel. And to interact with Häkan, very friendly and always in a good mood. We shared conversations that I enjoyed a lot and made me work my brain haha. And he showed me Swedish traditions. Häkan took me to the station in his car every time I needed. Ulrika and Häkan, thanks so much for share with travellers! ❤

The hosts were friendly and welcomed me. The scheduling has less structure than anticipated. The work is not hard and the surrounding area is beautiful with great access to some very nice hiking trails. The experience overall had some challenges but the hosts were good to me and very good people. The greatest strength of the area is the nature and being away from a lot of the noise of the world. The Internet access is spotty, so be aware if you are relying on that.

Ulrika's a kind woman, but often extremely stressed. This makes the environment unorganized and chaotic. I had to work extra sometimes because things were forgotten about, not communicated to me, etc. When I first arrived at the hostel, no one told me what to do for the first week or so. I was very overwhelmed, especially since it was my first experience. I had a private room and toilet almost throughout my entire stay. There's a Gym and an amazingly equipped kitchen and fridge for our constant use. We're even allowed to borrow the car sometimes. Nature and lake (5min walk) are very beautiful.

Eliane liked to do things her way and did not like to be told our ways. We gave her a lot of freedom with responsibility. She got to bake a lot of what she wanted and run the cafe that she liked. We met her needs and planned for when to do what when there was a conflict with someone else. She borrowed the car regularly to go different places, her friend came to stay. We had weekly meetings when she wanted. Reading her review I realize she did not get it and lost the big picture.

The experience at the hostel was average. I had a private room and could use the kitchen anytime, which was great, but the house had no running water, so I had to walk outside to use the bathroom in other house. The internet was very unreliable, often not working after 8 pm, which made my online work difficult. There was no clear schedule, so some volunteers felt lost, though I liked the flexibility. In the end, I also helped with cleaning, the café and check-ins. The surroundings are stunning.

Håkan he is such a sweet elder and despite his momentarily health issue he did his best to be positive and welcoming. WIFI and cellphone connection are very limited here and that's not mentioned in the profile. Ulrika seemed triggered every time she was around, when I asked her sometimes "Is everything okay" she started complaining about things which I found to be very counterproductive and super negative, she tried to engage with me in a dramatic manner a couple of times and I just walked away. This kind of behavior really affected the overall experience There was other factors as well...

Shervin took a lot of space in a subtle way. He left his room very dirty without saying good bye not just ignoring me but Also the other volunteers as well as guests that he had spoken to previously. I did get very upset with him at one point after telling him to clean up after himself and firstly take from freshly cooked foods served for the guests before making the same for himself . I never seemed to reach him in My attempts to share our ways never landed for him .

My overall experience at the hostel was good Ulrika and Hökan were very nice and welcoming. Accomodation was good i had my own room food was always provided mostly you cooking for urself. It is a great place to do alot of hiking, it is right in the middle of a forest very beautifull. Nearest shops or supermarket is about 10 mins drive or 40 mins by bike. And wifi connection is not the greatest sometimes. Its a nice place if you wanna be a bit disconected and enjoy nature.

It was my first volunteering experience and I absolutely loved it :) I stayed a month at Ulrika and Håkan's hostel and even if it was a calm time for the activities in the hostel I had a great time exploring the forest or just chilling at the hostel. The work is simple and quite varied. Ulrika and Håkan went few times in cities next to the hostels and invited me to come so I could visit these places a little bit. I really recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in a hostels surrounding by nature with great hosts ☺️

My experience in Omberg was amazing. The hostel is lovely, the forest that surrounds it is incredible, the trails are the best and the hosts are really kind, funny and flexible. They even let me stay longer because of my unpredictable travel plans! I really enjoyed my stay and I would really recommend it if someone is looking for a place to relax in the nature or likes hiking. I might return one day! Thank you very much Ulrika and Hakan! (:
