When I first read about this opportunity to paint murals for a restaurant while getting fed and having living accommodations provided it didn't seem real. Until I arrived and got to spend the dream life of painting murals, enjoying amazing food, taking in the beach everyday and connecting with people from all over the world. Everyone was so kind and made me feel like family there. It took all of me not to change my dates to stay longer but I hope whoever fills my spot enjoys it as much as I did.

This experience was the worst I had with Worldpackers. I don't recommend it, I worked like 10 hours a day and according to Worldpackers I only had to work 5 hours. The day I arrived in the morning he let me work from 12pm to 10pm. The volunteering don't agree to the offer from Workdpackers, in the app it says that they have a laundry and breakfast, the breakfast was literally water with oat and there also was no laundry. One day he gave us fruits which were terrible. Moreover, he lied to us with wrong promises, what was really poor.

Muy mala, los cuartos están en condiciones deplorables, en especial el de hombres que la puerta no cerraba y me hizo trabajar hasta 10 horas por día siendo que aplicaque para trabajar 5 horas por 5 días y cuando llegamos nos dijo que eran 6 horas 6 días, tampoco hay desayuno, lo único que nos dio fue pan pero solo dos días y un día nos dio frutas en mal estado, no la recomiendo para nadie.

Hola Ulises! Lamento que tu experiencia no haya sido la mejor. Como bien conversamos a tu llegada, era Semana Santa y había mucho por hacer, por lo que te pregunté si podrías apoyarnos esos días y recuperar los descansos y horas extras ni bien terminaba el fin de semana, a lo que tú accediste. Esto es un voluntariado y cómo tal, si hay algo extra se conversa y si no hay acuerdo, no hay problema y se sigue según el acuerdo inicial. Eso lo hablamos claramente y tú aceptaste sin problema, por eso me sorprende que te expreses así con tan mala onda. Enfin, que tengas un buen viaje y todo vaya bien. Saludos!

I enjoyed my time at La Piramide and really loved spending time with the people in the organization. However, I definitely was ready to leave at the end of my 2 week stay and felt that there were some things that could be improved. Be aware that when visiting during the summer, you will experience a lack of water and electricity at times, which will impact the cleanliness in the rooms and bathrooms. Also I felt that the work tasks were not divided very equally as there are some shifts where a lot more is expected of you than other shifts. Overall, would recommend though as the social life was great!

Mi tiempo acá fue perfecto y bien relajado! Todos las tareas son fácil y los otros voluntarios/ empleados son chèvre. Me encanté todo especialmente la playa!

I had a great experience volunteering here!! Mati was an awesome host and Alex and Marco (the cooks!) were so nice. I ended up helping more in the garden than in the kitchen but I really enjoyed it! The hours were more than fair and there was lots of downtime to read and enjoy the beach :) definitely recommend!

Esta fue mi primera experiencia viajando sola y de voluntariado y no pude escoger un sitio mejor para hacerlo. Es un sitio muy bonito para quedarse el tiempo que sea, es súper tranquilo y seguro pero tiene actividades en los alrededores para hacer (tanto acuáticas como de visita como de fiesta). El restaurante es muy acogedor igual que los chicos que trabajan allí y la comida está muy rica😍 El trabajo es relajado, no hay presión y se respeta lo acordado siempre! Gracias a Mati, Alex y a todos que me trataron genial des del minuto uno y lo hicieron todo muy fácil, lo pasé increíble!!!

This volunteer opportunity is a great place to meet both other travellers and locals as well as experience the culture of the northern Peruvian coast. When I volunteered in August, it was the restaurant off season and the work was very relaxed and easy- you only typically da couple of tasks a day or take care of a couple of customers. This is a great place for people who want to chill and would like lots of downtime. The beach nearby is a beautiful.
