Alessandra welcomed us into her lovely, rural home. We had the opportunity to shadow Alessandra whilst she was working with unbroken horses. We helped look after the animals, dig trenches, make fires and go on walks! We even got to ride Criollo and learn how to ride like a Gaúcho 🐎 We tried lots of new food including tapiocas and Brigadeiros brancos with cinnamon! We had the most wonderful experience learning about Brazilian culture.

We loved staying with Alessandra. She sent us a PDF of information about our stay, including what tasks we might complete, what the food and accommodation would be like, and how to arrive at the farm. We ended up taking lots of photos and videos of her working with the horses and doing yoga. Alessandra cooks mostly vegetarian but didn't mind if we bought our own meat to cook ourselves. We also were able to buy snacks at a nearby market. She is very warm and welcoming, flexible, and a woman who “wears many hats”. 🥰 We're very grateful to have stayed here.

Quedar en Refugio la granja fue un grand regalo! Alessandra, la anfitriona, es sensacional, responsable, atenta, amable y me brindó una experiencia de aprendizaje mejor de lo esperado. El refugió charrúa es un lugar donde te sientes a gusto, Ale es una persona muy cálida, abierta y con muchos valores como persona, una amiga con la cual puedes compartir preocupaciones o historias de vida, la verdad es que si buscas estar tranquilo en la naturaleza, este es el lugar. sin dudas volvería por qué la experiencia fue muuy buena, lo recomiendo sin ninguna duda. ✨

Es mi primer voluntariado y realmente deseo encontrarme con más personas como Ale, es muy buena persona, mi experiencia en el refugio la granja estuvo demasiado genial, compartí y aprendí nuevas cosas, conocí a otras voluntarias que también me ensañaron un montón, estoy agradecido con la experiencia que tuve en el lugar. Los voy a extrañar a todos 💗
