This was an amazing experience! Laura, Cristina and Jasmine helpede and welcomed me in KSES, I felt like a part of it. Loved how much they care about elephants, environment and locals! Living in a homestay was lovely, I even loved cold showers after great and hot hike! Food (lunch and dinner) was prepared for us from our homestay and it was such a big variety and we shared with each other so we could enjoy even bigger difference. The only thing that was a bitt too much for me was rice. I know that rice is life, but for a while it's going to be enough rice for me.

My experience at KSES was simply an amazing one that words can't fully capture - it must be felt! It's a completely different world where you realize that we don't actually need many material things to live. Everyone there was very kind, patient, and helpful. No one was forced into anything, which made the experience very pleasant. The accommodations were simple but comfortable. The hikes were very fun and beautiful. It's clear that the elephants are living well and are happy! And for me, that's the most important thing. I wish there were more people like those in KSES. Thank you! <3

Mi experiencia en KSES ha sido maravillosa! Lo recomiendo 100%. Ha sido mi primera experiencia en worldpackers y no podria haber sido mejor. Todos los dias íbamos en busca de los elefantes y hacíamos una recogida de datos y seguimiento de su comportamiento. Nunca habia visto un elefante y fue increíble ademas de todo lo que he aprendido sobre ellos. Lo que mas me gusto es el respeto que tienen por los animales, el entorno y las personas que viven en el pueblo donde esta ubicado KSES. I was for 2 weeks at KSES and it was full of experiences I will never forget. During my time the staff members tried everything to help us feel welcome and comfortable. It is perfect for everyone who is truly interested in elephants and the local culture. I highly recommend joining the KSES project and create incredible memories you will never forget. I only had one week at KSES, but I highly recommend doing at least 2 weeks to make the most of this experience! I had such a wonderful time learning all about the elephants and the village itself! the staff and locals were all so lovely which made the week so much more enjoyable ☺️☺️

This was an experience like no other. Very well organized, the team at KSES works to give you a truly impactful experience and challenge you to contribute to what they do. I loved that this experience was all-encompassing. There's no other the shelter experience quite like it, but just as impactful was the integration into the Karen village and the mutual respect there. Learning about the research taking place and taking part in it was truly incredible. A special thank you to Chris, Jas, and Laura who made me feel at home during my time there!!

I spent two weeks at KSES and it was amazing! We were able to hike to see the elephants and collect data on them every morning, and got to spend the rest of the time hanging out in the village with locals and with other travelers / interns / guests that have come to stay. Kerri and Laura were amazing and make you feel so comfortable the entire time! It does take a little getting used to the lifestyle as the project is in a pretty remote village. Overall, a great experience and would recommend doing at least two weeks here!

I had the best time here! Highly recommend. Kerri and her team were super welcoming and I learned so much from this experience even from the short week I spent here. They have created such as wonderful environment for the elephants to roam free in this hands off environment after their years in captivity. My home stay was also lovely and made some delicious meals ;)

Such an incredible experience, we lived in a little local village and went hiking every weekday to watch the elephants. I feel like I learned so much about elephants and how the tourism community impacts them. This project is truly something special and I would recommend to anyone considering to take part in it. I really believe that this project can make a difference even for the elephants they cannot bring home to the forest. Every single one of the staff members is so kind and supportive on top of prioritizing the wellbeing of both their elephants and their volunteers.
