Thrilling Volunteer Journey at Carcavelos in Our Beach Hostel

Meu primeiro intercâmbio voluntário e a experiência foi ótima, conheci muitas pessoas legais e gentis que me acolheram como se fosse da família! Os horários e tarefas são bem definidos, respeitados e flexíveis! As tarefas são basicamente limpar as áreas como cozinha, banheiros e quartos e manter organizados durante o horário de trabalho! Ao princípio devido ao Hostel estar cheio, não havia água quente suficiente para todos usarem, mas Lucas resolveu o problema após alguns dias. Carcavelos é um lugar muito tranquilo de ficar e há vários horários de trens até o centro de Lisboa.

Tivemos uma experiência muito massa no hostel! O espaço é bem a vibe de uma república/frat house, mas é bem divertido pra quem curte, sempre há companhia pra curtir, papear etc com horários de trabalho mega tranquilos. As pessoas do hostel foram fantásticas e criamos amizades para a vida toda. O time de voluntários foi uma família, sempre se ajudando. Com certeza, voltaria em algum outro momento. Uma vivência enriquecedora em todos os aspectos!

Minha experiência no hostel foi incrível! Tive um tempo maravilhoso com minha parceira de viagem, Bia. As pessoas do hostel foram fantásticas, criando amizades para a vida toda. O time de voluntários foi incrível, sempre se ajudando. Com certeza, voltaria em algum outro momento. Uma vivência enriquecedora em todos os aspectos!

I had a really great time volunteering at the hostel! Lukas, the owner, is super kind and easygoing, and it was fun working with him since we're around the same age. The hostel has a really relaxed vibe, and even though it's about a 30-minute walk to the beach, it's still an awesome spot for surfing and hanging out by the ocean. The work was fair and gave me plenty of free time to explore, surf, and meet cool people. Overall, such a fun and memorable experience – I'd definitely recommend it!

I had a great time volunteering at the hostel. The Host was really nice and I felt welcome from the first day. The tasks were not too hard and I had lots of time to socialize and meet new people. I also had the chance to surf and get to know Carcavelos better. Lisbon is not far away so it was nice to get to know the city too.

I enjoyed my stay at Carcevelos the hostel! It was pretty low season, so there wasn't much work to do or many guests staying, so it was chill and with time to explore other cities or activities such as the beach close by. The people there definitely made the experience! We all had a lot of fun together and they are all so fun and cool. Definitely a place i'll come back to and feel welcomed. Also a good place to practice your Portuguese;) A home away from home<3

Lucas doesn't care about the well being of the guests, it's the basic goal to have when you manage a hostel. Some guests also don't really making effort after the cleaning. At least I met really good people and Carcavelos is a lovely city !

I stayed 5 Weeks in carcavelos and I really enjoyed my time. A lot of the people that stay there were there for a longer, so over time they really grew close to me. Work was really fair and easy. I could always Talk to Lukas about everything. Carcavelos was the perfekt calm town to chill but be also close to Lisbon and other beautiful towns Like cascais,… I already miss it! :)

I really enjoyed this experience! The hostel was quite nice to live in, there was always someone to chat with and for sure you could never be bored. The shifts were manageable, even though I hoped to have more chances to paint and do gardening. Carcavelos is mostly a quiet town, but the people from the hostel will definitely help you to have fun; The host, Lucas, knows how to manage the house and the shifts well, but he also gets along well with everyone and he is fun to be around.

Los chicos eran muy simpáticos y atentos sin embargo no era lo que prometían, empezando que el lugar no tiene vibe de hostel porque es más bien una casa de huéspedes que no siempre son muy simpáticos, por otro lado me prometieron día de sangría y barbacoa, el cual nunca se hizo, nunca hubieron clases de surf, ellos saben surfear y te ofrecen enseñarte, siempre y cuando sea el horario que ellos quieran, también es muy común que se metan con las voluntarias, además había que limpiar mucho y estaba muy cochino
