Caretakers for newly planted trees
A experiência
From December to June we have the dry season in our area.
Due to the lack of rain we need to water the young trees using hose pipes, apply mulch to retain water and prevent forest fires from damaging the trees.
We need persons with a passion for nature to assist us in making sure our reforested area survives the dry season.
From June to November we need volunteers to assist in planting new trees and maintaining existing planted areas.

Working hours are 25 hours worked spread over 5 days (some days more or others less), with 2 weekend days spend away from the project (no meals on off days) in the nearby towns or visiting nearby islands.
Work starts after breakfast and finish at around 13h00 to have lunch. Afternoons can be spent on the nearby beach or just relaxing somewhere on the project.
Current projects include -
planting and maintaining fruit and forest trees, upgrading and maintenance of existing infrastructure, installing a sewage treatment plant, and upgrading the water distribution system.
We are doing physical work and had volunteers up to 72 years old that could cope with the tasks on hand. We adapt tasks to suit the limits the individuals put on their own abilities.
