Help us with daily activities of our guesthouse and farm!

You can go there and experience nature; you live on a beautiful farm, with fresh fruits available daily. The food is okay. You should know that you're in the middle of nowhere, and even if you see other volunteers staying there, keep in mind that there are two guesthouses, so you might not be placed with others and could end up on the property only with the owner. It's an ideal place for introverts who prefer not to spend time with people. Communication with the owner can sometimes be difficult. It's better to know this now than to go, waste time and money, and leave after just two days.

The lodge is a really cool place and i enjoyed my time here. My advice to anyone thinking of going is to go with an open mind and dont have alot of expectations and im sure you will enjoy it. the lodge and Michele are really nice even if alot of the communication is direct its not meant in a bad way. All in all it was a really cool experience and i would definetly recommend giving this place a go

If you want to connect with nature and enjoy a simple life with local, you should definitely go for it. I think I wasn't prepared for the loneliness and the lack of confort. You'll have a lot of free time far from everything and alone (but I was at the beginning of the season). This can be a great experience if that's what you want.

This place is perfect for calming down, relaxing and charging up some energy. I had lots of free time to read and explore the local village. I felt welcomed and the tasks were easy to learn. It's not a very social guesthouse, so not many other travellers came by which means that you spend a lot of time alone.

Beautiful location. I personally felt no warmth from the host. he agreed with me tbat he's not a warm person, he doesn't care about these things. Also he's not Laotian, not that that's a problem, but good to know if you're idea is to stay with locals. Dorm room is fine, you get the chance to make your own food with whatever is available. Good place to stay if you want to be completely by yourself.

Part of what you're saying is definitely misleading due to the fact that you stayed here less than 48 hours. But oftentimes the key lies in giving it a bit of time.
You've been the nightmare of every host: coming with a lot of personal expectations, with an astonishing need of attention, always looking for conflict and refusing to adapt at any cost.
We still don't understand which kind of treatment did you expect from us, the guests and the other volunteers.

We asked you to leave simply because your behaviour and attitude was unacceptable for our project.
However we did it politely ( no shouting, no anger, no hard feelings) and presented our reasons to you as grown-up adults should do.
We asked what did you need before leaving and provided it to you and then gave you a ride to the minivan stop.
It was our decision and it would have been wise to respect it and take responsibility for your feelings.

Wow, I really loved this place! Volunteering there was amazing and I learned so much! But man, it was really hard work.

My stay at the lodge was truly amazing! I had the best time working with the lodge and Michele. The work varies a lot so it never gets boring and you learn something new everyday! I was able to do both farm work and housekeeping for a few days each which was really nice. the lodge is a great cook and there was always plenty of food around. The place is super chill and you get a true taste of the local Lao live and learn a lot about sustainable farming/gardening and just a more sustainable way of live. I loved it and hope I can come back someday!

It's an amazing place away from tourism and perfect for a mix of work and relaxation. the lodge and Michele take great care of the volunteers and make it a very likable place and nice atmosphere. If I get the chance I will definitely go back!

Michele is a really funny character. He could do everything to make you comfortable. He is also flexible with the work to do. It's possible to work hard if you want but also if you feel tired it's possible to take it slowly. the lodge is also a really funny character, difficult sometimes to communicate with her, but working with her and her family makes really the experience amazing, in immersion with locals. The place is simple and the nature around is wild, definitly a good choice to ressource yourself.
