I had the opportunity to volunteer at the camping during the winter, and it was an incredible experience in every way. Located on the shores of a frozen lake and surrounded by breathtaking landscapes, this place is perfect for those looking to connect with nature and experience life in Lapland. While the work can be demanding at times ('cause the freezing temperatures), the rewards are immense: northern lights almost every night, walks in the snow, and snowmobile. Highly recommended!

I volunteered in the camping for 4 weeks as a Northern Lights guide and it was absolutely amazing. The hours are always respected, all the people make you feel at home, and you can meet a lot of international travelers working and volunteering there. I also defenitely reccommend the camping if you are looking for a place where to connect with nature!

Spending two months at the camping was an unforgettable experience and the best way to immerse myself in the magic of the Arctic. The work was very fair and flexible and the team prioritised giving me time to explore Kiruna, including visiting must-sees like the Ice Hotel and local museums. I met incredible people from around the world, went cross-country skiing, drove snowmobiles and witnessed the northern lights and polar clouds multiple times. The team at the camping became my family and the bonds we created made this place feel like another home. the camping will always hold a piece of my heart!

My time at the camping in winter was really wonderful, and the fact that I've come back again says a lot about this place. There's a lot to experience in winter, and the camping offers many opportunities. The people there are all very dedicated and caring. The tasks are simple and manageable. I'll definitely come back again!

This was my first-ever volunteering experience, and I am glad I chose to come to the camping! If you are the type of person who truly enjoys nature, don't think twice! It's truly a beautiful location. I loved waking up in the morning, not knowing which day of the week it was, to enjoy a warm cup of coffee next to the lake, which looked as if it were a painting. I also enjoy saunas a lot, so naturally I really enjoyed using the sauna and taking a dip in the cold lake. This experience made me realise and confirm which kind of environment I'd prefer to live in the future. Thank you, the camping!

I would recommend this place if you're looking for something peaceful, quiet and some time to reflect. I've learned so much just by being here. The sauna is to die for, the lake is gorgeous, the staff is nice, friendly and helpful, the hours agreed are always respected and the work is never too hard. Thank you so much for this experience!! I loved every second of it! :)

Genuinely one of the best experiences of my life. The entire team were so beautifully kind and welcoming, such genuinely amazing people. My caravan where a stayed was to die for, sooo cosy and best view ever. The place itself was unbelievably beautiful, every time I was outside It was awe inspiring, I got the see the most amazing Aurora, stratospheric clouds, jaw dropping sunsets, polar night, the list is endless. The work was very easy and varied, and they were very receptive to feedback about what jobs people preferred to do, shift times etc. I could not recommend this more 🫶

My stay at the camping was (again) amazing! I visited once before during the spring, but to see the winter in full effect now was super special. I had the opportunity to see aurora's, polar clouds and the polar night. Helping on the tours was super cool. Marie, who leads the tour, is a very kind person and always ready to help if needed. She is a great tour guide for the guests, which gives amazing energy. The work on the tours was easy and very doable. The hours are as agreed in the beginning, which is very reasonable. Also the talking with the guests is nice, as they are all super kind.

One of the best experiences of my life 💙. They are extremely sweet people and concerned about you, a very good atmosphere develops between everyone. I left with a lot of sadness of this place but happy for everything I lived! The auroras are amazing! Speachless The tasks at the camping are easy and fun, I enjoyed it a lot :) Karolina is great and amazing person, Marie is a sunshine and love. Thanks to each one of you in the team, thanks the camping! 💙🫶

Ámbar is very professional and excels in the tasks she performs. We were more than satisfied with her work. She helped us with the cleaning of the common areas, cabins and taking care of the laundry. We are so happy that she create for us wooden magnets which remind our guest about time spent in Swedish Lapland. She is so talented! We also spent great time with her and the team, she's a very interesting person and we hope the best for you in the future. Thank you again!

The camping was my first volunteer experience and I could not have asked for a better opportunity! The people were so kind and we became like family, I'll miss them so much. The work is very reasonable. I'm sad to leave this little the camping, it is such a lovely place under the Northern Lights :)

We are really grateful to have had Natalie at Camp Alta. She is very efficient, quick and always ready to help. As well as being efficient in her work, she's a kind person with whom you'll have a great time outside work too!
