My experience at the hotel was great ! I had the opportunity to meet a lot of other volunteers and learn new skills such as bartending. The accomodation is very good and the view from it is stunning. There are two shifts : one in the morning which consists into washing dishes and rooms, and the afternoon shift which consists into bartending. I really enjoyed the bartending part. You get your planning on sunday and the hours of work are well respected. All the staff members are very nice. It's perfect if you w I highly recommend this volunteering !

Recomiendo mucho este programa de voluntariado porque son muy acogedores y todos te ayudan cuando lo necesitas. Nico y Sofi son unos anfitriones geniales. El lugar es muy lindo con la mejor vista de la ciudad y creo que este es el mejor alojamiento para voluntarios en Latinoamérica!

Adorei voluntariar no the hotel! A equipe é muito receptiva e fazem questão de sempre te ajudar e explicar tudo certinho! Com certeza pratiquei muito meu espanhol e inglês, o hotel recebe hóspedes do mundo todo. Todas as semanas recebemos uma cesta com comida e ganhamos gorjeta! Vale muuuito a pena :) O turno da manhã pode ser mais cansativo que o da noite mas nada fora do esperado! Sou muito grata por tudo que aprendi no the hotel ☺️

This volunteer experience felt less exchange-based compared to my other experiences. On the positive side, I interacted with lovely guests in two languages, learned bar skills, and had comfortable accommodation. We received a basic food basket, which would be more useful if given on arrival. The staff team was extremely kind, friendly, and supportive. The schedule was manageable on the days I worked, though on busier days having two volunteers would be better. Overall, the experience works and is okay, but the lack of volunteer integration and exchange energy is what makes it a 3/5.

My experience with the hotel Valparaiso was really bad. There is no volunteering team, you just get assigned to one of the employees and have to obey. Volunteers are kept separated, during the shift you barely see each other. There is bullying from the cleaning team towards the volunteers, to which they assign the worst jobs to do, like only cleaning toilets for hours. There is no pause, I had to fight for a short food break. The atmosphere is very antisocial, they don't make you feel welcomed at all, I felt treated like a beggar for a room and not like a volunteer. Room in nice though

Thanks for your comment. Just to clarify — you stayed only one day, and you arrived on one of the busiest days of the month, which doesn’t reflect how things normally work with the team or volunteers. It’s hard to judge the whole program from a single shift, especially since you chose not to stay longer.

Minha experiencia não foi boa e por isso eu pedí para cancelar e me fue depois de 10 días. Quando cheguei a recepcionista disse que não lembrava que eu chegaria neste día. Me recebeu em uma habitação suja, com mucha comida podrida guardada en los cómodos de la cocina. No primeiro día não me ensinaram nada. E me mandaran fazer as coisas como se eu já conhece toda a logística da casa. Me sentí mau recebido pela equipe y visto ou percebido como alguén que veio a ser un funcionario que tiraría o lugar de trabalho dos demais e não como um agente de uma comuniade decolaboação que vem pra aportar

Sentí que trabaje gratis y no lo sentí como una experiencia enriquecedora No funciono para mi, decidí avisar con una semana de anticipación que me iría antes. Nico y uno de los voluntarios hicieron que fuera mas llevadero por su buena onda. Me sentí como una empleada. Los turnos poco equitativos, el de la mañana de limpieza es mucho mas agotador que el de la noche, postule al puesto que decía "turno nocturno" y casi todo mi horario fue de mañana. Dejan los trabajos que no les gusta hacer dandolos a los voluntarios, como limpiar baños, son 5 pisos sin ascensor subiendo y bajando cosas pesadas.

Recibimos a Paloma y le dijimos de inmediato las tareas y cómo funcionaba. No escuchamos ni una queja en ese momento. En su primer turno manifestó que no le gustaban hacer tareas de aseo, por lo que solicitó que no le dieran esos turnos. Jamás hemos hecho esa distinción con voluntarios solo porque alguien nunca ha tenido cercanía con la limpieza. Los turnos son aleatorios según la necesidad del hotel. Paloma vino con una mentalidad muy ajena y cómoda.

El lugar es muy bonito . Se comparte una habitación con otro voluntario , lo malo es que es un poco lejos del centro. la habitación es muy colorida y muy bonita. Ayude en el turno de mañana y tarde. Los horarios son flexibles, cada semana te dan una cajita de comida .Gracias por la experiencia.

A great hotel with a beautiful terrace and views over the city, really unique rooms and friendly staff. We had a great stay volunteering here working at the bar and helping with cleaning tasks, however the standard of work expected of you is the same as the paid staff and sometimes a bit disorganised.
