When I arrived it was not at all what I expected. You will be living and sharing a home with Dung and his family. I personally only taught 2 lessons a week in the afternoon so you have a lot of free time to explore or chat with Dung's two boys and help around the house. I really enjoyed tending the garden on the rooftop and painting the walls with a fresh layer to make it look nice. This experience is more than just teaching English. It's being welcomed into a household that by the end you feel like you're part of the family. Definitely a unique and special experience that I will cherish.

It was a wonderful experience to share moments with amazing people. Their family is great and you can talk about their culture while you share lunch with them. You will be living in a neighborhood with plenty of local people.

Dung is an inspiring person, with many ideas and wishes and dreams. Through his questions, I was able to reflect on my own life. He explained the work to me and introduced me to my colleagues. I was warmly welcomed. Dung helped me to get to know the country and its people.

Working hours are shorts, only evenings on weekdays, so you will have plenty of free time to explore the area. City is a little tad far, 1.5 hours by bus and 40 mins by cab. Food provided is pretty basic. Would be good if host could have informed us the things to note and the class schedule way in advance.

The volunteering was amazing ! i made loads of great memories while volunteering . Mr. dung is one of the great people you will ever meet, he is funny and very understanding ! the volunteering house is half an hour far from hanoi city , but it's okay ( riding the bus as a foreigner and everyone is looking at you is quite an adventure ). the food was good , traditional vietnamese food made by mr. dung's wife :)

Great place to volunteer with very flexible hours. Weekends will be the busiest for you because there are more classes on weekends. During the weeks, if you have nothing planned you will get bored be cause there are less classes to teach and so not much to do. But Hanoi is just a 30 min bus ride away (pretty decent in my opinion. Accom is hostel style (nothing glamorous) and food includes home cooked, simple Vietnamese dishes (again nothing super glam). You must pay a fee if you are planning to stay less then a month. The lessons themselves are great to teach once you get comfortable teachin

Our experience in the great volunteer house was great. We were comfortable and the hosts made us feel at home. We collaborate in social networks, videos and photographs. We learned more about English. The meals were great, excellent to be honest. We particularly fell in love with the Vietnamese culture. Thank you, Dung and Lanmai for opening the doors of your home and your heart.
