Volunteering at the host has been an amazing experience. The other volunteers became great friends, the location in Antigua is perfect and the hike to Acatenango is very rewarding. The work is very simple and only a few hours a day, so you will have plenty of time to explore Antigua and other places. Kelsey is a great host. She is very flexible with the schedule and will do her best to fulfill everyone's wishes. She's at the host most of the time to help answer any questions that you might have, and if not she pretty much always responds to texts within minutes. Thanks for having us!

Great experience! The guides and the other volunteers were really friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. The work was simple to do, and the agency's location is very central, which was really convenient. As for the volcano, it was an incredible experience to live! I highly recommend, you won't be disappointed!

Volunteering at the host was a super experience ! The job is so chill; 2hrs a day, the agency perfectly located and the experience up at the volcano is stunning. The staff, either the other volunteers or local guides, was super friendly and all of this made my stay at Antigua and first volunteering experience unforgettable. 🤯💯

I had an amazing time at the host ! Volunteering at the host is a great opportunity to explore wonderful Antigua and the volcanos while helping with the rent of equipment and some cleaning tasks. All the work is super easy to do, the atmosphere is very comfy and you have a lot of flexibility. There are three shifts a day for 1,5 hrs where you mainly just attend one of them. Of course also possible to switch shifts or days off with the other volunteers according to your plans in Antigua. To get the Acatenango Hike for free is definitely a huge plus and an insane possibility !

My time at the host had ups and downs. Maribel, the kitchen lady, was absolutely lovely, Kelsey and the reception girls were helpful, the volunteers felt like home. However, I had a bad experience with a guide who insulted me, the rest of the staff felt unfriendly, and the house was under noisy construction. WiFi was also unreliable. There's potential here, but they need to improve their staff attitude and facilities.

I would venture to say, that construction does mean improved facilities. So I agree, the construction while your stay was less than ideal and we definitely apologize for that! We are excited for the new improvements for the new volunteers!

The instructions were clear and the host was well-located. I met beautiful volunteers that made my stay in Antigua better. The communication in the host was rougher than it should've been. The accomodation was bad. At one point there was a construction happening from 6AM to 11PM. It was so dusty, that every volunteer suffered from sore throat and coughing. When I got home from a trip, my room turned into a storage room - without communicating it to me. It made me feel like I don't even exist and weird, that everybody could just walk into my room. It often felt like we weren't valued, just there for work.

Vi I do apologize for the construction happening during your stay and the lack of communication around it. However, the hours you worked in a week were between 10-12 hours....so saying you were just here for work when the time volunteers actually work is so little seems a bit misleading.
