My time with Jana was incredible. I loved it. The tasks were as described. I would only recommend if you are physically fit and not allergic to hay. As it is on a farm, some tasks are like a workout 💪 For some tasks you can choose your workinghours and you can spend a lot of time on the beach/exploring the island. Jana is super friendly and helps you find your way around. Please note that Jana's farm is in a village and you have to walk. Working with Jana and the animals was super fun. I always felt welcome, this made saying goodbye pretty hard. I can definitely recommend it. Thank you Jana

Amazing host in an amazing place. It was truly an unforgettable experience for visit Jana and her donkeys. Her farm and the surrounding area were beautiful, and Jana herself was a very attentive and understanding host who encouraged us to see as much of the island as possible.

We feel so lucky to have visited the shelter ! Yana is bubbly, kind and understanding which reassured us massively especially this being our first the shelter packers experience. The rooms are gorgeous, lots of space and there's a nice kitchen environment which allows you to socialise with other volunteers. Being able to pick your hours for work enabled us to explore the island and beautiful beaches by bike. The work is physical and it can be hot however it's all manageable tasks and lovely to be emersed in the nature.We very much recommend staying here, thank you Yana for a wonderful experience

The shelter is a really special place and Jana is such a sweet soul. The house is cozy and everyone had a private room with bathroom. The kitchen was free to use such as the outdoor area. It was about half an hour walk into Stari Grad and to the shops and beaches. Jana got some bikes we could use to cycle around the island. Jana is so kind really made me feel welcome and at home. Daily tasks were filling up water bottles and hay nets and getting them up to the donkeys, also some sanding, cleaning, etc. The work never felt like work to me, still the hours were respected.

Volunteering on the shelter sanctuary was an absolute dream! Jana, and the other volunteers were so welcoming and really made the experience. The rooms are beautiful, and the kitchen is fully equipped, along with an outdoor fire we used to cook fish! Jana also has 4 bikes we could use to get around the island. Jana as a host was amazing, she was so understanding when I had to change my dates and leave early! And always provided entertainment with her stories. The animals were so loveable, and will really be missed! I definitely recommend this experience, and am tempted to go back myself!

This experience was mixed for me. The property was beautiful and the animals were a lot of fun to be around. We enjoyed exploring the island during our time off, which was plentiful. Jana was nice but often stressed, which lead to some unpleasant interactions. The work wasn't too bad but the environment was negative at times. I'm grateful to Jana for opening up her home, but it wasn't an experience I enjoyed completely.

The animals, the property, and the island are really all great parts of this experience. The work is pretty straightforward. You prepare the hay and tend to the donkeys and horse at 7:30am, then do some projects around the property for the rest of the morning. You have the rest of the day to yourself. There are plenty of places to explore around the island by bike or on foot. Unfortunately, I found Jana to be less than welcoming and I would not return for another stay here. I hate to say this because I was so excited for our time there, but we did not have the best experience.

Cool little place. Easy access to town and the busses to get you round the island, you do have to walk or bike into Stari Grad! The place to go if you love cats!!!
