The experience with Diego was amazing, he is an excelente host, he likes to make you feel like home and that makes the experience even more wonderful. I love the community project Diego has with the nature and the jungle, he thinks out of the box and he works for a deeper reason, for his habitat and his culture. During the volunteer you feel his love for nature and that make me feel more connected with the nature. Diego es a respectful, friendly and spontaneous guy. I really recommend the shelter Chackra if you want to live an real experience in the Ecuadorian amazonas.

Este fue mi primer voluntariado y la verdad que fue increíble. Una gran experiencia en la que quería conocer en profundidad en amazonas de ecuador, y así fue. Pude conocer cómo de increíble es la naturaleza, la diversidad que encuentras a cada paso y probar frutas y comidas que ya en sí son toda una experiencia. Diego y yo nos hicimos panas, lo considero mi primo y amigo, y ya sabe que puede visitarme en España cuando quiera. Me encantó toda la experiencia y pude sentirme amazónico por el tiempo que estuve aquí. Muy recomendado si quieres sentir una verdadera experiencia.

The shelter is not a spiritual place, with ancestral medicine, but a place where you are in contact with nature and the host Diego, a young boy enthusiastically shows you the nearby places and allows you to have experiences. the stay there was pleasant. Thank u Diego!

Would not recommend! Loved the jungle and river, but too many bad things to fit them all here. I can not understand the previous reviews! The host argued loudly and had fights with the other volunteer almost everyday, which was so uncomfortable! We had no door or walls in our bedroom for ca. 1 week in a house where his parents had free access whenever they wanted. He got mad over small things we brought up. I got no free tours and almost none free hikes, yoga and dance classes. Left after 3 weeks, 2 weeks early after he demanded more work than agreed upon, and different tasks than agreed upon

Sentimos mucho que no te hayas sentido cómoda en el lugar que queríamos que fuera tu casa.
Lamentamos que los problemas que hay durante la convivencia te hayan afectado personalmente.
Esperamos que encuentres un lugar que se adapte a lo que estás buscando y disfrutes mucho.
Tomamos nota y valoramos todas las cosas que nos has dicho para poder mejorarlas.

Esta experiencia fue muy enriquecedora, Diego nos llevó a lugares muy cheveres llenos de naturaleza y actividades. Diego y su familia fueron muy amables! en cuanto al trabajo, fue suave y nos dedicamos a cuidar el jardín de la casa.

Lo pase súper bien ! Hay un buen equilibrio entre las mañanas de trabajo y la tarde libre. Si quieres puedes preguntar para hacer cosas en la tarde (caminata, rio, artesanía, …) y si no te la tomas para ti y quedarte tranquila. Diego es tranquilo, amable y buena onda :)

On one hand wanted Diego to show me everything about the different plants, Spanish lessons, the beautiful jungle, making me feel at home. On the other hand felt it like Diego wanted me in bed with him. He suggested shortly after my arrival massage and tantra, a method he used to get “closer to his volunteers and connecting with them.” He didn't tell me beforehand that we were alone in his house. “Innocent” touches, complements about appearing, flirty behaviour etc. I know it's not the first time he's been hitting on a volunteer. Is Worldpackers the new tinder?

I am a very professional person in my work, I gave all my love to make the volunteers feel at home, it does not mean that I want to have them in my bed.

Words can hardly describe how important and precious it was for me to be part of the Arutum the community. I felt comfortable and welcome from the first moment. The house and the surroundings are breathtakingly beautiful. Diego is a balanced, kind and open-minded person and an incredible host. He really listened to all my needs and invest so much time and energy to show me all the beautiful places in the area every single day. I've learned a lot about cooking ecuadorian food, gardening, the spanisch language and so much more! I will be grateful forever for this amazing experience 💚🙏🥰

An unforgettable experience. I definitely recommend it. Diego is amazing. I did something everyday that scared me which I loved. The work was rewarding, I loved getting my hands dirty. Food is incredible. Loved waking up and stretching and hearing the animals. Thank you so much Diego, amazing time. Definitely will be back here.
