I loved my cool stay on the farm :) It's hard work but I got to learn and do so much! There were a few days I worked 8+ hours, so I would say as a volunteer it is important to be aware of the time. When that happened, I just reminded Mike that the workload should only be 6 hrs a day, and he was respectful and understanding. Mike was also flexible about days on/off working - if the sun was out, I would take days off to hike and explore. The farm is about a 25-30 minute walk into town, from there several busses can take you around to many scenic hikes.

My time at the farm, with Mike and the other volunteers, was truly unforgettable! If you're looking to immerse yourself in local communities and culture, I highly recommend this experience. On the farm, I had the chance to learn about different approaches to sustainability and experiment with a variety of projects. Mike was incredibly accommodating and always willing to explain each project in detail—there's such a wide range of activities to get involved in! I'll definitely be visiting again in the future :)

I had a great time on Mike's farm. It was a good mixture between doing farmwork, spending funny moments and evenings with the others and having time on your own. Mike is open minded and wants you to have a good time on farm. If you don't feel good with a task just tell him and he gives his best to find an other one for you. I think especially during autumn and winter time you should not have a problem to work in the butchery. The time management is mostly in your hand that's also a reason why I had a not stressful and varied time in a surrounding to feel good.

It was such a fun and interesting experience staying at the farm! I learned a lot about living off the land and got to try out so many cool projects like making wine and jelly using fruit harvested on the farm. Other activities included feeding the pigs and chickens, and help herding the sheep. The hours are quite flexible and there is such a wide range of projects that you can try out. I also got many opportunities to hike around the beautiful scenery in the area and interact with the local community at different events and gatherings.

My time at the farm was truly excellent. Michael is about as plugged into the local community as anyone could be, embodying a culture of reciprocity that is a joy to be part of. Michael is also eager for volunteers to work on their own interests as much as his projects. I helped with a variety of things- helping his English students practice, butchering, health checks for his sheep, garden maintenance, feeding his animals, and doing the odd building project. I also pursued my own interests like processing wool from raw fleece to yarn. Come here prepared to contribute in your own way!

My stay at the farm was very peaceful and immersive in nature — exactly what I needed. Mike has a lot of experience hosting and my room was very comfortable & cozy. I appreciated the flexibility of the work & hours, mostly consisting of gardening, helping with the animals, and keeping the house tidy, all of which I enjoyed doing. There's so much life at the farm, and I can imagine even more so in the spring & summer. The town was ~30 minute walk and a lovely place to be.

I really enjoyed my time here, it was the perfect place for me to just relax after travelling for a while. The work is pretty easy, for me it was mainly gardening and organising the house on rainy days from around 9am-4pm with a lunch break. The animals were really cute and easy to feed when I had to do it. Overall I definitely recommend this stay for other travellers!

I had a great time at here. Lots of prior worldpackers came to visit from years ago. I met a lot of local friends as they continually stopped by for a visit. This has been one of the best places for local immersion into the Irish community. There are so many things to do on my free time I will not get them all done. Town is close by an easy walk or a short bike ride. Ireland is the happiest place on earth, or maybe it's just Mikes place.
