My first volunteer experience started positively: the volunteers were welcoming, and work hours and days off were respected. The apartment was basic but functional. However, many issues made it disappointing. The hosts didn't honor promised perks, like a pickup, and the kitchen lacked essentials. We also lost access to free drinks, and I had to sleep on a couch due to overcrowding. Communication was poor, and training was inadequate. I wouldn't recommend this place. Worldpackers doesn't let me write too much, but if you want to know more feel free to text me and I will gladly elaborate :)

This was my first volunteer experience and overall I am very grateful for the opportunity and the time I spent here. The expectations regarding work are reasonable and my time off was always respected. Early in my experience there were some issues that arose and the owners were open to listening and work together to address the situation, which made the team feel safer and more comfortable. New volunteers should be aware that there are several quirks to navigate especially regarding what to do or not do in the kitchen and living areas, however Michel and Franklin were always very kind to me.

It was a great experience to volunteer at the hostel! The hostel is very well located, close to the city center and right in the heart of the night life of Eindhoven(which is live!) Dozens of bars and clubs! The work is easy and the hours are flexible and respected. If you know how to respect the host's demands and be mature about them, u can have a great time! I learned a lot.

I am only giving a low rating because how of one of the hosts, Michel, treated me. The other host (Franklin), the accomodation, the normal workload and the other volunteers are great and I have only compliments to give. So apparently Michel chooses from time to time someone as his scape goat and this time, was me. From being rude to throwing a fit while screaming at me and even throwing an object at the wall and blocking the passageway while doing all of this. This was the breaking point for me, it was only getting worse and I colud no longer tolerate this kind of behaviour so I left sooner.

Just to make sure that understand what happend. When people are working, there is always a possibility for making mistakes. As you should know!!! I' am always very patient towards all of the volunteers, including to you. I always tread people with respect, so that people can learn from there mistakes. Unfortunately there is always one that doesn't learn from his/her mistakes and if that happens the person always decides to leave earlier as planed. Please don't try to blame it on me, the list of your misakes just got to long, and that is the reason that you decided to leave.

First of all I want to thank Michel and Franklin for de opportunity of volunteering at their hostel! the hostel is a excellent place to volunteer. The shifts are easy and quick. Cleaning shift is great, it usually takes no more than 3 hours and it's quite simple. Reception shift is quite fun because you get to meet interesting people sometimes. The volunteer room is outstanding; it's big and also private. My favorite part of the volunteering was the people I met along the way and Tory(dog). The volunteers are always friendly and helpful. Eindhoven is a great place to do day trips to different places.

The hostel was my first Worldpackers experience, and I could not have asked for more. The place was welcoming, the tasks were easy, and the city was great! I stayed for a month and only did cleaning. The days off were flexible (I always managed to have 2 days off at a time), and I rarely worked the full 4 hours. This means that I had plenty of time to visit Eindhoven and several other cities in the Netherlands, Belgium and even France. I never expected to have such a great time. Thank you, Michel and Franklin, for taking me, and thank you to the other volunteers! I hope to be back sometime soon.

My experience at the hostel has been fantastic and I truly enjoyed my time here. Everyone was super welcoming, the volunteer room is spacious and private and the work is easy. the hostel is a perfect place if you love to be social and get to know other volunteers, as well as to keep exploring. During my 5.5 weeks, I was able to do daytrips and overnight trips to Belgium, Germany and within the Netherlands. It's been an amazing first volunteer exchange and I will miss everyone! Thank you Michel and Franklin for taking a chance on me and trusting me with both, housekeeping and reception. 😊💚

My time at the hostel was great!! the work was easy and I had plenty of time to see Eindhoven and visit other cities in Netherlands. the other volunteers were all lovely and I made good friends. I would definitely recommend this experience!

Eindhoven is a beautiful, calm city that truly allows you to adapt to the culture of the locals; and has so many events/places to explore. The city center and train station are just a quick walk from the hostel. The work is easy, and ends about as quickly as you start meaning you have the rest of the day to explore and relax. Michel and Franklin created an environment that allows for volunteers from all over to meet and share their experiences. Oh, and when you arrive you'll also get to meet Donatello and Tory(i), the hostel pets, which will bring a little warmth to each day.

Once again I was able to volunteer in this amazing hostel that's like my second home, great times with the rest of the volunteers, some of them came back so I already knew them and new friends that I was able to get along with. Many thanks to Michel and Franklin for the presents they got for us from their trip to Iceland and also the chocolates they also got for us that was really nice of them. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK🥳 best place to volunteer in Eindhoven, besides the city itself is amazing!! I'll be back in a few months for sure!! Tot later Michel and Franklin 🫶🏽
