I've loved my experience in the farm, and in truth, after I've left I continue thinking about this experience as the people I've shared my time here with made it so special. The horses are another show apart, if you love them like I do, or you're interested to get in touch with them you will love it. You can go riding with them sometimes, which is very nice too. Working hours could be more organized as sometimes it is a bit too much. But in opposition to that I had opportunities where I had some time off too from my working hours, so I would say to keep a great communication about it :)

My time at the farm was awesome. This will be the same for all those who seek time away from the city and enjoy the quietness of a the farm environment. I learnt a lot a bout Argentinian culture and despite my language differences became close with my team. The food was a highlight with a kitchen at your disposal at all times and designated cooking days. Please note you will be working extremely hard and the tasks are often very unclear - so always voice your concerns when they happen and you'll be fine!

I only stayed for one day at Catalan the farm because I personally expected something different. Overall, Amancio owns a beautiful farm in the middle of nowhere and I didn't have a problem with my tasks, (laundry, cooking and cleaning). However, I thought everything was quite hectic as I was arriving and I would have liked Amancio to instruct me a bit more. This experience was just not what I was looking for but I am sure other worldpackers will have a nice time.

Dear Marit,

thanks for your review.
Yes, normally you receive from me and from the other volunteers an introduction to your tasks during your stay here.
That's why you were working on your first day together with Karen, who had been here for some weeks, and she was showing you around.
But you only stayed one day! Already on your first day, you decided to leave again. So you were not really giving us the chance to introduce you to your tasks.
And, yes, we are right now in high season, which means there is a lot of work every day. I had of course told you this on our previous conversations. Volunteers are really contributing with the daily work here, and from the very beginning. It's true. And we think it's great that it is like this. People have here really the chance to contribute to a working project which has been possible thanks to the effort and dedication of many many volunteers.

All the best,
Amancio.

Staying at the farm was my first Worldpackers experience and I cannot say it disappointed! It lived up to my expectations and then some! Well the timing was probably not the best as every volunteers did not speak English but I had fun and met so many people. Overall the work was pretty simple and not that physically demanding (it still is manual work so it does require a minimum of physical effort) and the hours were not that exhausting. A thing that could be improve is the organization and planning, with fixed hours maybe and clear tasks for the following days, but not a big issue.

I had a lot of fun at the farm! I stayed for about 3 weeks and had differnet kinds of tasks, like feeding the animals, renovating or marketing. After your 6 working hours you could do whatever you want to, so I went to a gym in the area often. I also enjoyed my time with the other volunteers. Everyone, also Amancio was very open and welcoming, which created a nice atmosphere. Sometimes it gets a bit cold in the house, as the heating didn't always work, and you are pretty depended on your car, as there is nothing close , but if you have no problem with that you will have a great time! :)

Overall I had a great time at the farm. I stayed there for 3 weeks. I met incredible people and went to many small towns in the area. It was good that I went with my car, because without one it is hard to go somewhere fun in your free time. I got to ride horse, a nice new experience! The stay was good. Because the place has to be renovated it is not luxury, but you have the basic things. It was a little cold, most of the time. There is no plan for the renovation, but you'll still be busy with tasks every day. The con about no plan is that there are some situations that aren't really safe.

I volunteered at the farm for 2 weeks. I had a nice time there, from doing construction work to caring for the horses. The host Amancio was very welcoming from the first contact. He is always smiling and positive whatever the situtation is. Pros There is autonomy in the work done Choosing working hours and tasks during the day are flexible Amancio is a great cook and singer You go on horse ride ;) Cons There is a lack of planning and organization. The heating and sleeping areas are not adequate. There is a lack of knowledge about construction, which is dangerous sometimes.
