Handyman work in North Germany

I had a good time overall. It's in a quiet village with mostly nothing around except nice roads and paths through fields and forest. The work is okay but not that fun, especially when there's less volunteers as there's more work to do. The hotel needs to hire more employees. The owner should put more effort into connecting with the volunteers. The staff isn't interested in the Center/yoga which was disappointing. A couple of the staff didn't seem interested in talking or connecting with me and gave bad vibes, but of course all the volunteers were awesome.

The Center is a beautiful place, but quite remote so you won't be able to access much without using a bike. The work can be tough at times (6am starts), so I'd make your needs known early on. The staff are great, but communication could be better. Overall I had a great time though, and connected with nature and the other volunteers - so thank you!!

My goals were to improve my German, learn new skills, and meet new people. I achieved these at the Center, with help from the staff and the German lessons provided. The work is tiring and long and you will do various tasks, including housekeeping, service, kitchen, handiwork, and more. I also helped out at the Kartoffel Hotel. The nature surrounding the Center is peaceful and accessible by bike. As well as bike rentals, the hotel provides communal facilities the Center classes. I recommend this place to anyone committed to improving their German language and their hotel service skills. Thanks :)

This was my very first Worldpackers experience and I ended up being very satisfied. During the time I spent there, I felt as if I was isolated from the whole world and enjoyed the time. The food is delicious (potato lovers will especially like it). It is definitely worth making your needs known, sometimes the workload can be a bit exhausting but regardless there is free time to enjoy the place and make connections with people from different cultures. Thanks to everyone with whom we had beautiful moments.

The Center was a wonderful experience for me. The people you work with make all the difference and you can truly make wonderful connections here.

I appreciate the clean spacious room, free the Center meditation lessons, healthy three meals per day and rental bicycles. It's written as a "shared room", but you are actually sharing a house, and you have your enough space for you to hang your clothes and using the tables plus the kitchen together with other volunteers. The room is bigger than what you normally expect from the usual dormitories in a hostel. You can take a nice walk to the forests and also go to towns like Hitzacher and Dannenberg. I met many wonderful people here in Sagasfield, and I appreciate all the memories here. Danke!

It was a great experience, I learned and improved my level of English thanks to all the classmates who were there. the Center wouldn't be the same without them. The schedule is hard, sometimes you have to get up at 6 in the morning and work, it depends on the tasks you have, but I connected with myself and enjoyed the experience.

My experience at the Center gave me an interesting look into the inner workings of a the Center centre, having the opportunity to help the team with kitchen tasks, housekeeping, and groundskeeping. The facility and surrounding nature are beautiful and the Center team was so welcoming. The warmth, love, open-mindedness and sense of community created by the volunteers was immense and truly touching. I'm so grateful for my time here and for the precious connections I've made.

This was my first volunteer experience and I could not be more grateful for it. I have met beautiful, loving, open-minded, caring and funny (Andreas ;)) people, who felt like a family. Especially the team of volunteers felt like home. I did mainly housekeeping, breakfast and a little bit of gardening. If you enjoy remote areas with beautiful nature, where you can connect with yourself more, then it's the best place for you. I also attended yoga classes and German classes (the German teacher is really kind, I had a great time). I've learnt a lot during my stay, thank you for helping me grow :))
