Detalhes

We own and manage a rental property business in Milos. You can view the houses we offer for rent on our website: bluemare.gr.

There, you’ll find detailed information about us, including the location, photos of the houses, activities in Milos, and other useful details we share with our guests.

We host Worldpackers to assist us with housekeeping in our properties.
As a volunteer, you’ll share a residence with one or two other Worldpackers. The house is located in Adamas, near the port, just a short walk from the town center — offering an immersive experience of local life. Within a 5-minute walking distance, you’ll find a supermarket, bakery, vehicle rental shops, and various food options.

You will be accommodated in a shared apartment that includes a spacious room, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, TV, a cozy patio, and a private bathroom. You can find photos in our position announcement.

Before confirming a volunteer stay, we always arrange a video call via WhatsApp with each Worldpacker. This helps us get to know each other, ensure good communication, and set clear expectations from the beginning.

We speak Greek (of course), fluent English, and fluent Spanish. These are the languages we prefer. If a volunteer speaks Spanish, we usually communicate in Spanish; otherwise, we use English.

Atividades & Turnos

Work takes place in two main locations:

Firopotamos – This is the village where our rental properties are located, about 5–6 km from where we live. The main responsibilities here involve preparing the houses for our incoming and current guests. Tasks include making the beds, taking out the garbage, cleaning patios, and restocking essential supplies such as soap, detergents, water, and breakfast items. The goal is to keep the houses in spotless condition. This work is usually done in the morning, especially when guests are checking out. Occasionally, additional house maintenance tasks may be required.

Adamas – This is where we live and where most of the laundry-related tasks take place. The primary responsibilities here include ironing (using a professional ironing machine), washing clothes, and hanging them out to dry. We’ll train you during your first 1–2 days. In addition to these, there may occasionally be other tasks such as cleaning patios, gardening, or general house maintenance. Work usually happens in the afternoon, but sometimes it may be required in the morning as well.

We also run a small boat rental business, with three boats available for rent during the summer season. When there is no work related to the houses, Worldpackers may help with basic boat maintenance or cleaning. You can learn more about this project on our website: bluemareboats.gr.

Work schedule:
Working hours are continuous, meaning there are no split shifts. If someone works in the morning, he does not work in the afternoon, and vice versa. When we have two or three Worldpackers, we usually rotate shifts daily, so that everyone has a fair chance to work both morning and afternoon shifts.

Regras

The Worldpackers' residence is expected to be kept to a high standard of cleanliness and order. Since volunteers live there and are the sole users of the space, they are responsible for maintaining it and keeping it clean.

All Worldpackers are expected to follow a few simple house rules, and we appreciate their cooperation.
