We really liked our stay at thethe community, helped with social Media and had a very authentic Experience. The Family was super nice and helped us out whenever we needed Help. Unfortunately, there were also some downsides of the stay: - the food is Not very nice, Sometimes the Family ate better and gave us the cheap food (mostly potatoes and rice) - it's rather expensive If you compare what you get vs what you would get in Huaraz - there is Not really a room/space where you can warm Up or Just relax - the Treatment towards their pets wasn't to nice (maybe thats Just us) Still recommended!

It was a nice experience to stay with Nelson. I got to experience what it is like to live in a rural village. It was difficult to adapt at first, but I felt welcome even though the family speaks Quechua between themselves. Life is quite primitive in Wilcahuain and can be lonely in the evenings, especially if you are the only volunteer. But the surroundings are beautiful and you learn a lot about the Quechua culture. If you don't mind being alone and want to experience the village life, I would highly recommend volunteering here!

My time at this location was a bit uncomfortable. Due to various comments, behaviours, and requests made by the host and his family, I felt disrespected and uncomfortable during my time here. At some times I was made to feel unsafe due to some behaviours from the family.

Nous avons passé une superbe semaine chez Nelson et sa famille. Nous nous sommes senties accueillies et très vite intégrées. Nous avons pu participer aux tâches quotidiennes et avons pu profiter des montagnes de la Cordillère des Andes tout en pratiquant notre espagnol. Je recommande à 100% !

I felt comfortable during my stay. In the three weeks I really got to know the family and how they live. When I had problems, they always had an open ear and helped me as much as they could. I had some funny moments there. However the language there was a little problem for me. The family speaks with each other Quechua, not Spanish. So I couldn't be part of the conversation nor understand anything about it. That made me feel lonely sometimes. But the when they spoke Spanish, everything was good.

Nelson is a good Host and the food they make is delicious! Somedays you will work but it is really not that much and allways fun and simple tasks :)

Estar en la comunidadfue un gran tiempo en nuestra visita a Perú. Pudimos convivir con Nelson y su familia, quienes siempre fueron muy amables con nosotros. Tuvimos tiempo para conocer distintos lugares de Huaraz, eso me gustó mucho. Estuvimos trabajando con una página web para ella comunidad, y en general disfrutamos nuestra estancia allí. Agredecemos la oportunidad de que nos recibieran en su hogar!

El espacio que ofrecen es un espacio limpio, lleno de naturaleza, y fauna. Es un entorno perfecto para conocerse a uno mismo, conectar con la gente local y la naturaleza que te rodea. Desde el minuto 0 fuimos acogidas como parte de ellos. Estuvieron atentos a nosotras en todo momentos y nos brindaron en todo momento un hogar, enseñanzas nuevas y una mano amiga. La gente local es de la más agradable, amable y simpática que he conocido en todo el país. Están llenos de cultura y con ganas de poder enseñar todo lo que ellos saben para que puedas conocerles mejor.

Hemos estado súper agusto en casa de Nelson, el y su familia son un encanto. Nelson súper comprensivo con la situación que teníamos, se ha adaptado a nosotras y nos ha facilitado mucho las cosas. Las tareas llevaderas.
