Our neighborhood is famous for hippies, the arts, hiking, rock climbing, music and hot springs. It's 45 minutes to a beach, 1 hour from skiing, and 2 hours to the hot springs. Local theatre, arts, and live music every week.

This work exchange program involves reception, housekeeping, and occasional projects (including painting murals, gardening, renovations, etc).

Here we really get to welcome you into the family. You'll help the hostel alongside managers and your fellow traders. In our off time, we love to spend time together on movie nights, game nights, and hiking adventures.

This program operates the hostel: reception, guest interaction, cleaning, and other chores that ensure we are able to welcome travelers from around the world. Our main program traders have a ton of input into operations, and we welcome suggestions that make everyone's lives easier and more fun!

Our #1 rule for success: ask! There is always a manager on duty (MOD) to support you.

We constantly create special projects as part of your work trade, and play to your strengths (i.e. paint a mural, plant a garden!). Ideas are welcome!

Atividades & Turnos

Each trader does 3 8-hour shifts/week at the hostel. The shift types are morning, evening, and special projects. The schedule comes out weekly, and we welcome requests (within reason).

We STRONGLY encourage traders to take days off to enjoy the local area. Take a bus to the mountains and go skiing, or borrow a paddle board and float the river a few blocks away! Grab a friend and go antiquing or whale watching on the coast! Borrow a bike and go on one of the many great bike rides or trail hikes inside and outside Eugene. Grab a pair of climbing shoes and climb at the columns... just a 10-minute walk away! Plus, we have an official staff appreciation day once a month (lake/river picnic, trampoline park, hiking, camping, skiing, . . . endless possibilities).

Regras

You'll bunk in one of our trader dorm rooms with a maximum of 3 roomies. You get exclusive access to the common areas of the hostel (closed to guests) from 10pm-7am every day.

Drugs are not allowed. Alcohol and marijuana are allowed within reason and if you are of age.

Stealing, tampering with guests items, and disregard for others' safety will not be tolerated.

Work traders receive free breakfast, room and board, bus passes to explore the local area, 4 days off per week, staff parties, and tons of extra bonuses. Many of our helpers choose to stay for months with us :).
