I loved my time here! The dogs were amazing, the work can be hard, a lot of cleaning, but 3 days a week and your own private apartment it's a no brainier! You get the bus to the daycare which is really cheap and frequent. We had lunch bought every day, plus breakfast sometimes and bubble tea! Also, whenever there were issues at the apartment the host would buy what was needed/or resolve it very quickly! I would definitely recommend this experience to anybody interested in visiting Taiwan! The area 'Tamsui' was nice too! Just a train ride away from Taipei and lots of extra time to explore

Natasha is a great host, I had a lot of questions and she kindly answered them before I arrived. There was a little confusion as to what room I would be in when I checked in, but it all worked out. I would advise anyone looking to work here that you will be working the whole shift, the dogs do not take a break! Also Tamsui is a bit outside of Taipei center city. I liked that it was a bit more remote near a beach, but some may wish for center city. Lunches provided on days you worked were always delicious and Natasha tries to schedule you with longer blocks of days off so you can travel.

Me and my husband have been here for 3 weeks, it's been fantastic. The apartment is in Tamsui district about 40 mins away from Taipei main station on the MRT. Tamsui is such a great place, the beaches and bars and resturants. Taiwanese style apartments, a room ensuit, desk and TV and fridge. We had a kettle so could cook eggs and noodles. The work is great 9am- 5:30-6 3 days a week with 2 hours off for lunch which we spent at the beach (food provided is great!). Start of day you clean after dogs (poo and wee) and then repeat that 3 times throughout the day whilst playing with the dogs!

I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the host for three months. And it was an experience I'll always cherish. The apartment itself is spacious and clean. Natasha and the full time sitters are not only wonderful people but also incredibly kind-hearted and passionate about their work. During my time here, I dedicated 3 days a week from 9 to 6. The tasks included cleaning the kennels, general cleaning, playing with the dogs, going outside with the dogs. Every day you work Natasha provides you with a delicious local lunch. I wholeheartedly recommend staying here!

I have had such a wonderful month in Taiwan at the host. The managers and workers are all lovely! The work is hard and can be very tiring but it's typically just 3 days a week so you have time to rest. It was such a good way to experience Taiwan, and have a routine and daily life as opposed to a holiday. I will miss it terribly and am super grateful for the experience.

I had such a great time at the shelter! This was my first worldpackers experience and it was wonderful. The hosts and staff were all really sweet and great at making sure the volunteers knew how things work and keeping us in the loop on everything. The accommodation is a small apartment about a 40 min bus ride away from the shop, the commute is quite easy. It's also easy to get from the accommodation into Taipei on days off when you want to go explore and do tourist-y things! All the volunteers are in the same building so it was nice to have people to commute to and from work with!

I really loved working there, everyone in the team was adorable, the dogs were really cute, and the place is beautiful to visit. I strongly recommend to anyone who likes working with animals.

Was a positive experience. Work is as described. Mainly cleaning and a bit of fun with the dogs. Some of the days we left a bit earlier from work however in one of the weeks, I worked 1 more day than the 3 days per week agreed. As for the communication, Natasha lacked in answering me before I arrived so I ended up booking my flight to taiwan quite late and paying more and I only received the schedule from her almost 5 days after I arrive (the other volunteers told me my schedule). However after I was there, there was no issue and everything went smooth. I would do it again.

It was a very fun experience! I found I was working a lot during the week, but the workers were so sweet and made the entire process so enjoyable. I wish I was able to immerse myself more fully in the Taiwanese culture during work, however, had a blast learning about the shelter. I also enjoyed the lunch which was given during work as the places were always local and great food!
