Had a great time. Everyone is ridiculously friendly and made me feel very welcome! I enjoyed the tasks and whilst there are lots of beds it was a fun challenge. Lots of offers to compensate for the work which was nice. There were loads of events that were really fun- especially the rooftop parties! There is also a pub crawl that can be done for free but I thought it wasn't great and preferred to go out with volunteers. The location is amazing and you could get to the beach in around 30 minutes. The rooms are shared between three volunteers and can get quite hot but I liked the room!

I've absolutely adored the time I've spent here for the last 6 weeks. I stayed at sunset the hostel and i had the absolute best time. Both hostels are really central, making it easy to get everywhere. The work hours were fair and gave me plenty of time to explore Lisbon. I didn't really meet or communicate with anyone from management until 3 weeks in, I didn't find this to be a massive issue but worth mentioning. This experience was everything I was looking for, I felt so at home and i was so so sad to leave. I've made the most beautiful friends here and I can't wait to come back xx

The management tries to stay as close as possible to all staff and encourages you not to be "afraid" to talk in any case, but it is important to refer that there's a lot going on between the 2 hostels which makes management have more workload in the office.

This was my first time working in a hostel and I absolutely loved it, obviously there are tricky days/ aspects but it's the people you meet that make it worth it. Everyone was so goddam nice and I was sad to leave due to getting sick and not being able to fully enjoy the full month. Tasks were pretty good as were the hours, the cleaning ladies are always so lovely. It truly is a family not just from volunteers the staff as well are one in a million. Very much missing you guys and wish I could have stayed at least 2 weeks longer. ✨💛

My time at Sunset the hostel has been a great experience! The staff and the other volunteers were super kind and always there to help you and have fun together :) The working hours were fair and you get plenty of time to explore Lisbon. As the hostel is located right by the train station it is easy to get to the beaches around Lisbon. Thank you so much for this experience 🫶🏽

The hostel Lisbon was my first city hostel to volunteer in. It's a place between action and retreat. Playing the piano, chess and reading on a couch in the cozy common space. And then fun karaoke nights, a chess evening and free surfing lesson, drinking games, pub crawls and nights out, where you get to know so many people. You should expect to prepare a lot of beds in your bed shifts, which I personally found quite meditative and fell always within the agreed working hours. And the staff and volunteers brought such a nice vibe to the hostel. I hope to visit this place again in the future <3

The Lisbon the hostel is amazing. The infrastructure for volunteers is one of the best I've ever seen. The hostel is beautiful, very well located, the work is very fair and the staff is wonderful. Unfortunately, for the sake of family health, I had to return urgently to Brazil, leading me to leave well before the agreement. I thank Magda who, from the first contact, was a lovely person and was totally understandable with my setback. I really hope to come back one day, because I wanted more. A big hug to everyone!!!

I don't even know where to start... My stay at Lisbon the hostel was one of the happiest time of my life, it was exactly what I was looking for : connecting with people from all over the world, feeling useful, having time to explore the city... The work was fair, the team understandable, friendly and flexible when needed. This experience has taught me a lot of things, that school would never be able to teach me. I have met interesting people with lots of stories to tell, made friends for life and learned a lot about my myself. This place will always remain special to me ;)

It was a fantastic experience! In comparison to what I heard from volunteers at different hostels I think the hostel are the best hostel to volunteer at. I enjoyed my tasks, both hostels in Lisbon are great places to live & hang out, the other volunteers & staff are AMAZING! I had a nice room with 2 roommates and plenty of free time. The location is great, i could walk basically everywhere. Breakfast is super yummy and the discount on activities/drinks is a real gamechanger! And obviously, Lisbon is just amazing. I love this city so much and I'm definitely coming back :) Thank you <3

Lisbon the hostel was such a beautiful experience:') The hostel is so incredible, literally filled with beautiful plants, it's such an insane place to be able to call home. The staff members and the volunteers all contributed to such a home-like experience, I couldn't believe I had to go back to Berlin when I had built a literal home in Portugal. (should have stayed and done online uni). Also volunteering here will able you to meet people from the entire world constantly. And not only meeting them but engaging with them in all of the hostel's activities such as pub crawls and tours!

What can I say? This was such an amazing experience, that I will be forever grateful for! The Sunset the hostel, has such a special place in my heart after staying there for almost five weeks. The work was very fair and respected and all of the staff members made it so easy to work in a team:) I think I have never worked or even stayed in a place where all of the people are so so nice, welcoming and open minded! Thank you to all of the staff and the other volunteers who made this stay a truly special one 🫶🏼 Lisbon will always have a special place in my heart! Hopefully see you soon!
