Help in a Hostel in Taormina

Spending time in beautiful Taormina and surroundings make this experience worth it. My experience at Homstel was good overall. Task are simple and there is some flexibility with the schedule. All members of the staff are very nice, welcoming and fun to work with. Don't expect to stay in the hostel as your accommodation. You might end up in the other building where there are more dorms and where some members of the staff live, or you might end up sharing a studio apartment with other volunteers, which it has it's pros and cons. I recommend this experience for sure.

Amazing experience in a beautiful part of Sicily. Francesco, Pervine, Egle and all the volunteers are easy-going and hostile. Never felt bad or alone, they were always around if needed. Working hours are easy and respected, accommodation is nearby and have everything you need. I will definitely come back, Thanks!

It was a lovely experience, specially being able to interact and help guests arriving at the cozy Taormina! The hostel is super well located, so you can easily move around and also recommend cool places to the guests! Reception tasks are fun and flexibility is key, due to the needs of the guests - which is clearly exciting!!! The staff is great, they're always there to help you, and I was received in the best way and I'm super grateful! Thanks so much for having me!!!

Acogedor hostel, a dos cuadras de la calle principal, 15 minutos del mar. Muy cálido y cómodo para voluntariar. Volvería! Muchas gracias por todo Francesco y Pervina

I got why it's called " Homstel ", it's really a home away from home! Not just for volunteers but guests feel very comfortable and at home. It's really nice to meet people from all over the world, most of them backpackers. The hosts Francesco and Pervina are the nicest people. The hostel is small and cozy and the terrace is just WONDERFUL! Best view and relaxing place. The work is very easy and the hours are well respected, and flexible in case you need. The city is just breathtaking! My stay was until the beginning of summer season, so it was just right in my opinion. Highly recommend ❤️

Francesco and Pervina were the nicest people, this was my first experience with worldpackers and I couldn't have asked for a better hostel. They really care about the volunteers and do everything to ensure you have a wonderful time in Taormina. The task are not difficult and the schedule is flexible, I cannot say enough about how helpful everyone was during my experience from Ítalo, Grazia to Fabricio. The other volunteers were very kind and respectful, I def put this hostel on my top 10. Surely I hope to return someday.

I has an amazing experience in the hostel, I loved work with Italo, Grazia. All the staff is very nice. The Hostel has a great location, everything is near: Taormina is a beautiful place to live. Also is so easy to arrive, if your flight arrives in Catania, outside the airport you'll find a bus to Taormina. I highly recommend this volunteer. The tasks are very easy and help to improve your abilities in customers services, and improve your Italian if you are looking that. Thank you so much to Francesco as well.

Overall had a good time, I had a positive experience with all staff members. They were friendly and my interactions with Francesco were always good. Depending on the shifts/ who you work with the tasks, expectations of the volunteers vary - which may affect your experience :) . Best part of the experience was interacting with the guests and making friends with the other volunteers and the staff.

There were many wonderful things about this volunteering experience and a few regrettable aspects. Most of the staff and other volunteers were amazing (thank you Connie and Facu especially❤️) and the town of Taormina was so so beautiful. The shifts were flexible and the work fairly easy. The language most commonly used by the staff was Spanish which often made me feel excluded. I also had an issue with one staff member who was very unfriendly which ultimately made me request to not have any shifts with her. Overall it was a lovely, but occasionally difficult time💛
