Dar clases en Vidigal para los niños y adultos fue una experiencia hermosa y gratificante. Si enseñar es algo que amas, preparar y dar clases en una comunidad como esta no será para nada un trabajo, sino solo será un placer, como lo fue para mí. Quedo agradecida con Larry y Meg por ser excelentes anfitriones. Recomiendo mucho esta experiencia de voluntariado en Rio, ya que es un lugar donde se puede mantener un ritmo de vida muy activo y saludable; además, las personas son increíbles!!

This was such an amazing and rewarding experience. I would like to thank Larry and Meg to provide this space for volunteers to participate in such an altruist project. It wasn't the easiest challenge but very rewarding experience. Sharing with the kids and maybe or hopefully helping them and inspiring them on improving their English skills. I enjoyed very much the hostel, the view was wonderful, and having my coffee every morning, and enjoying such a delightful sunrise doesn't have a price. Thanks to the other volunteers who were there also helping the kids and with my Portuguese 🙈. Eve

I truly feel blessed to have had a chance to be volunteer at the hostel Family! Happy that have been a part of noble Project which has honorable and generous goals helping the community and taking care of the environment! You all are doing the right things, which are not easy, but possible to change this World to be a better place! I am grateful for kindnesses and hospitality I received from volunteers and especially hosts Larry and Meg! People with beautiful soul and kind heart! It is amazing place to stay with breathtaking view and good vibes only! Peace! Paz!!!

My experience at the hostel was amazing! Larry is a wonderful guy, happy to help at anything you need, and always with good vibes. The place is so chill and living in a favela is an experience I'll never forget. Finally, and the most important, teaching English to the kids has been a huge experience, so rewarding and challenging! I recommend this volunteering 100%.

I recommend the experience to all those adventurous hardworking volunteers out there. I truly believe in the project and with hard work and commitment volunteers can make a huge difference in the life of every member who is part of the project. Ideas are always welcome and appreciated. The house has the nicest view; however, I think it's necessary to have a room available for all volunteers who need a place to study and/or work. I also think volunteers could be offered a refreshment or breakfast since it can be a little expensive living there since each ride in mototaxi costs $4r.

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue sensacional, me sumergí en la cultura local, conocí personas de la favela y una realidad muy distinta a la que yo creía. Los anfitriones Larry y Meg son muy buenas personas con las mejores intenciones de mantener el hostel en buenas condiciones y ayudar al medioambiente. Samuel es una persona increíble y muy compañero con todas las personas. Agradezco la oportunidad que me dieron de vivir esa realidad tan distinta y enriquecedora.

The hostel is a very special place in Rio. You are on the edge of pacific rain forest over-viewing the cliffs and sea. I felt comfortable there - Larry is a very open minded chap and I had many interesting talks with him. I also met many interesting people in his house and in the nearby NGO - where English lessons took place. Meeting new people there helped me to improve my Portuguese and make new friends. I also enjoyed teaching kids in favela - which was a bit challenging - but very rewarding especially when you see kids having fun. Long story short - I enjoyed it and recommend it!!!

Don't even think twice and go to the hostel♥️ it was my first Worldpackers and I have such a very good time there. You can enjoy the beautiful view, see monkeys, the tasks are very simple and interesting ! Larry is very flexible, so kind and is very open minded... we exchange a lot of perspectives of life, so cool! The people I met there were like a family ♥️. The favela is really quiet and even more secure than the places near there, like ipanema, Leblon, etc. Thank you Larry and Meg for receive us, you are such a very good people, you make us feel like we're home ♥️

Me gustó mucho la experiencia en el hostel!!, conocí a gente con almas hermosas y nos recibieron como en casa!! Las tareas eran gratas de hacer y había una gran flexibilidad en cuanto al tiempo! En gratitud por esta experiencia !! Gracias Larry y Meg por hacer un mes inolvidable en mi vida
