Had the best time in Temanggung with Hardy and his lovely family! They were so welcoming and made me feel at home right away. They really made sure I had the best and most authentic experience possible! I got to see so many beautiful places and Temanggung really is such an underrated region! From waterfalls to amazing sunsets and experiences with the locals, the schedule covered everything. Supporting Hardi with his content creation and getting footage for social media to promote tourism together was super fun. All in all, I would definitely recommend this Worldpackers experience!

Temmanggung is an undiscovered wonderful place where you can be in contact with nature 24/7.We had the opportunity to meet some locals and they were all so kind and welcoming and always with a big smile on their faces. Hardi and his family made us feel like home since the first moment and we got immersed in the Javanese life. I'm grateful to have met them and for the experience. Just be aware that the life conditions are humble and you should be flexible with the schedules and different plans.Communication is sometimes not fluid but there's always a way to make things work out for both sides.

I had a great time with this World Packer experience. Hardy introduced me to the locals so I can help them with English, and learn about the Java culture. Temanggung is a great village with beautiful landscape, and the locales are super friendly. Hardy's family was super welcoming, and I felt part of the family. Hardy also gave me tips about photography for improvement.I highly recommend if you like to immerse yourself in the local culture.

We really enjoyed this Worldpackers experience. Our host Hardy and his family were so welcoming and friendly. Our project was to help with videography and social media to promote Temanggung and give advice on how the region can improve to attract more tourists. We got to see so much of the area and the local culture. It was a pretty full (but flexible) schedule, however not all of it felt like work, it was work mixed with exploring! The accommodation was very local and simple, as you would expect but comfortable and homely. The food was also amazing!

Hardi and his family were very welcoming and kind making us fell like home. They were always aware that we were well. Hardi is very flexible with the plans we made We did so many different activities in Temmangun which involved the gorgeous nature that the region has. It's a place where you can be in touch with the nature all the time enjoying the silence. You should be aware that you are going to live in humble conditions and where the communication is necessary from the beginning. If you would like to have free days around the region or visit other part of the island you should mention it.

The locals are lovely, had a great time with them.. Hosts were very welcoming at first but then the treatment changed completely. There's no schedule, the school is actually closed which wasn't communicated before my arrival and at some point I wasn't even being invited to the activities which was very disappointing. We were asked to help w the gas even tho we were paying 7USD a day for “expenses and help w the school”.. This opportunity have a great potencial if the communication was better and a few things improved.. but for now, I don't really recommend.

Hardi and his family were very sweet and welcoming and their food and cultural experience allowed for me to feel like a true local. They helped to teach some Indonesian and it was fun to immerse myself with an entirely new hobby while exploring what Temanggung had to offer. My only “qualms” with this trip was communication and organization—I wish workdays were more so communicated on in conjunction with days off. If that would have happened, I would have been able to plan more activities on off days. Thanks again Hardi, Diah, and family!

My friend and I had such a good experience, I recommend it 100% ! We had the chance to really live like locals, we learned a lot about Java and its culture. Hardy and his family were great hosts, we felt really welcomed. About the mission, we had the opportunity to see a lot of things : hidden waterfalls, rice harvest, traditional clothes process,… Thank you again Hardy, it was really nice to meet you !

During my time spent in Temanggung, I helped Hardy in his different projects ( tourism promotion, English conversations with the local ). The goal of all of this is to open the beautiful and authentic region of Temanggung to the world. The best thing is that you will have the opportunity to be fully integrated in his family and in his community, and get to know the real Javanese culture. I had the opportunity to learn about the process of Tobacco, coffee, soja and Tea production. I've had such a unique experience thank you again Hardy !!!

This is a very unique and rewarding experience! Hardi was a great and interesting host that has lots of local knowledge. Sometimes there is a lot of waiting around as Indonesian custom is very laid back. The living conditions are very basic as you will be completely integrated into the community and local way of life. I was welcomed into Hardi's house and his wife and kids were so polite and friendly. You will be able to visit some incredible places that have not been affected by over-tourism, making for a real authentic and genuinely local experience. Keep an open mind and you'll have a great
