I arrived I was warned by the other volunteers that the bed I would be sleeping on has a sink hole in the middle.Tom didnt do anything about it.I was told it had been that way for months and multiple volunteers had informed him of the situation.I met other volunteers who told me that everything on the listing was a lie. Tom is very condescending and will probably say something bad about me but HE is the problem. Me and another volunteer left because the water is contaminated and he wouldnt provide clean water.Every volunteer and guest hates the hostel.WP bought me a place to stay when i left

The mattress as been changed as soon as I been informed about it didn't know about it before you, you told me you would like to camp so didn't rushed to change it when you were there. All the rest of the volunteers really love the experience you can see by the review it can't be a lie! The water filters got changed 2 days after I was informed about it, you just didn't want to buy water for a couple of days, told me your room is dirty when it's your responsibility to clean it. We are really down to earth hostel some people like it and some not, that want make the world so beautiful. Usually guests don't like it when they get a bad services from volunteers with a bad vide. A lot of lies in your review and its really a shame to misleading other travelers whole can really enjoy and learn from this experience but like I already told you you're Still a child, and that's what kids do telling lies and get Frustrated for nothing.

The place is in a beautifull location, next to the jungle and the beach. Its a great place to get to know a lot of travellers and really chill also. The host isn't there a lot of the time, but the work isn't that much so that's not a really big problem.

I had a great time volunteering at the hostel! The work is easy, simple reception and cleaning. The hostel is located just a few minutes walk from the downtown. It is right on the water and a 10 minute walk through the jungle to a beautiful beach. I would definitely recommend!

Muy linda experiencia, con los voluntarios formamos un buen equipo y Tom con su familia aportaron muy buena energía y ayudaron siempre en tareas del hostel. El lugar es hermoso al lado del mar ideal para hacer snorkel y explorar puerto viejo. Nos visitaron dos perezoso, muchos monos e iguanas. Gracias por alojarme y dejarme ser parte.

This was a great experience that got me away from the big city life and threw me into nature and quietness. Sleeping in a tent really made me get closer to nature. There were some up and downs as with every volunteer situation, but it was never anything to get angry about. Tom respected the hours and days that were agreed upon working and helped with training and understanding of what he expected and wanted. Definitely a place for those wanting to get away from everything.

Muy linda experiencia, mi labor principal fue cuidar de la hija de los dueños y a ratos apoyar con la limpieza del hostel. el lugar es un paraíso, el mar está de patio trasero y si te gusta el snorkel en el puro frente hay una barrera de corales inmensa para poder disfrutar de la vida submarina. la ubicación del lugar es perfecta!

I loved my time at the hostel. The hostel is owned by a couple with their little baby girl. The hostel is their home and I loved that about it. I enjoyed sleeping in the nature and hearing the sea as I slept. I enjoyed meeting people and exploring the town and surrounding areas. A lot of love goes into this place. Be prepared to live a little rough (which I love) and enjoy the outdoor shower after the beach. Thanks for the good times, Pura Vida!

The experience is unique, the place is magical you sleep in front of the beach and you hear all kind of animals and the waves . The owners are very nice!

El Hostel es hermoso, un lugar bellísimo con mucho verde y el mar a muy pocos metros, además está muy bien ubicado ya que no está en el centro pero tampoco demasiado alejado y se puede caminar perfectamente. Tom, su mujer y su hija son muy buenas personas. Pienso que se les da mucha responsabilidad a los voluntarios (manejo de reservas y manejo de dinero) cuando en realidad deberíamos estar para ayudar al personal o al dueño.
