My experience with the guest house was amazing, from start to finish. the guest house is a place of open minds, genuine love for others and adventures. I learned a lot about life in a community, which lead me to learn about myself as well on a personnal level. You will never feel alone or left out over there. I'm thankful for every day that I spent in this home, for every friendships that I made. The staff is full of good hearted and fun people. Had an incredible time at the guest house! Can't recommend it enough. The home away from home feeling is always something that's hard to recreate, but they've managed to do it beautifully. Location could not be more perfect. Close to restaurants, bars, markets and hikes. The cozy - home vibe makes it impossible not to make friends. Do yourself a favour and apply now.

The guest house is a beautiful Guest House. It is in a great location where everything is easy to get to, & you have a beautiful view of Table Mountain. You will meet so many people of different cultures & make life long friends. The staff is friendly & there is always something to do. However your working hours are dedicated to bar or reception. It's not a social media position. Every team member is free to post on the Instagram story whenever, & you may post a weekly predetermined post on their Instagram. Your time is not dedicated to working on their social media, video making, graphic design

The guest house is really an amazing place to volunteer in. It's placed in strategic area, the crew are awesome, other volunteers are so friendly too. It was such a good experience as a social media volunteer.

This is a wonderful place. They have a great atmosphere. There are a lot Of different things to do in the area. This staff is more than welcome to help you out which is a very good thing. There is a lady that absolutely was way more helpful than she need to be and I really did love working with her. Her name is Pumla. I feel like anyone would feel very welcome there.

My first Worldpackers experience volunteering at The Backpack hostel was amazing. You will meet people from all around the world and get to know different cultures. You will also have contact with locals since Lee and part of the staff are from Cape Town. The facilities of the hostel and the permanent staff team are incredible. I strongly recommend this hostel!! My experience was incredible! I found a loving home with everyone and I was challenged to learn new things which was so much fun! I really appreciated the communication beforehand with Lee, it made me feel like I could communicate well with my hosts. I was also lucky that my fellow interns are so wonderful people and we could rely on each other always. The hostel is always trying to find new ways to improve and this sometimes means a little bump in the learning curve, I've always felt like I could voice any concerns and my input was valuable. Thank you so much to everyone!

Working @ The Backpack was one of the best experiences so far!! I met lots of amazing people from all over the world!! Lee and the whole staff is amazing. The hostel is located in a very strategic spot, close to the Long St. and Kloof St. where you can find lots of bars, restaurants, gift shops, bakeries, shopping malls, supermarkets, etc.. It`s also close to Table Mountain and Lion`s Head. If you are traveling solo don`t be concerned cuz this is the best place to make friends right away!! Awesome opportunity for who wants to volunteer or just be a guest!! Cheers!!

Staying in The Backpack was one of the best experiences so far. I felt I was in the right place at the right moment and so hard to say goodbye all the family you create here. The hostel has an amazing vibes and everybody feel the same. Perfect place to enjoy Cape Town, meet people and feel at home at the same time. I will come back fore sure. The Backpack hostel is amazing. One of the best hostels that I ever been. Lee, the staffs and all the volunteers are so nice and made me feel like home. You are gonna meet a lots of people from all over the world and its fantastic. All my love to this place!
