I loved my 3 weeks at the school! Teaching Vietnamese High Schoolers was a fun and rewarding way to learn more about Vietnamese culture..Hai phong is a beautiful city that's off the typical tourist route and the free bike rentals were a great way to explore the city. The accommodations themself were cozy and provided the opportunity to socialize with other volunteers while still having the homestay experience. The work is only 3 hours in the evening (from 6-9pm) so it can feel like a bit too much free time but as I was 3 months into my travels it was a good opportunity to relax.

We loved our stay at the school. It is an amazing experience to get to know the local culture and interact with all the students. In addition, Andy will provide scooters for you to use as well to explore Hai phong (you only need to pay the gas!!). Andy is an incredible guy who helped us with everything and is always up for conversation. Furthermore, Vy, the family, the teachers and all the other volunteers made our stay memorable. This is definitely an experience where you get to know local culture if you want to. For me that does not have English as a 1st language, it was also a great way to challenge myself. Andy, his family and friends are great people and his house was very welcoming. I enjoined the teaching a lot. The whole experience is a great way to get a perspective of the education in Vietnam. I would therefore recommend this experience to others aswell.

I loved my experience at the school. Made great volunteer friends and also with the staff. Teaching English and connecting with the students was super fun, classes are chill and at night. You have a lot of free time in the mornings to explore the city and you have weekends off to do day tours to Cat Ba and Halong Bay. Loveeed my stay and would totally recommend it. My only suggestion would be for them to offer more healthy food options because most was deep fried. Other that that, everything was great! Thanks the school <3

I had a truly memorable time in Hai Phong! The task itself was really meaningful, as I got to meet and both teach and learn from many of the locals in Vietnam. Andy was really helpful in providing all the resources needed for an enjoyable stay, and he was also really friendly and helpful! Met some great people during my experience and I definitely recommend this for anyone traveling to northern Vietnam!

Volunteering at the school was a fantastic experience that I'd highly recommend! You get so much: Free motorbike rentals to explore the city, food, like-minded travelers to bond with, and the ability to truly interact with Vietnamese students. Andy, the host, is incredibly compassionate, especially when I needed room to do work, he always opened up a place for me. Improvements: communication and organization. On Worldpackers, after reaching out a few times, I still didn't get messaged back until sending a message on Whatsapp which also was a bit lagged. Attn. to toiletries could also help!
