One of my best volunteering experiences ever! The management Chris , Herve, whole team were super friendly, helpful, and understanding. The hostel feels like home, full cozy spaces- reading room, games room, tv room and amazing events like international dinners, games night. The volunteers were like a family always baking, cooking and laughing together, I even extended my stay, and it's right in the city centre, so everything is close, and old 1500s- style building has such a special vibe. Made friends for life, can't wait to come back again.

Overall I had a great stay. I was supposed to stay only one month, but ended up extending to 3 months. Everyone was really nice, and the work wasn't too hard. The hours were respected, and management also really flexible on the days off, meaning I got to do and discover a lot. the hostel is also really central and well connected, so it's easy to travel to and from there. The hostel is nice and well kept. You just need to be ready to share your room with other staff members. But at the end of the day, it feels like being part of a big family. I came as a volunteer but left a second home.

This was my first volunteering experience and I couldn't have chosen a better place. The staff is super kind and makes you feel comfortable right away. The tasks are really easy, and you always get support whenever you need it. The working hours are very reasonable and you'll have plenty of free time to explore Scotland, since the hostel is very well connected by bus and by train to other big cities. I meet a lot of amazing people from all over the world and I'm very grateful for that. I really recommend this experience to anyone.

It was my first volunteer with worldpackers! So, I was quite worried before going there. But everyone treated me kindly, and I had a great time communicating with people from many countries during my stay! The work isn't exactly easy, but the hours are short and I have plenty of free time to explore! It's located in downtown the hostel, making it easy to get around to other places. I highly recommend this hostel!

I wholeheartedly recommend the hostel. It's truly one of the most satisfying work exchange experiences I've ever had. The tasks and working hours were perfectly reasonable, our room was comfortable, and everyone took turns keeping the room tidy. The shared spaces were wonderfully relaxing, and the managers were exceptionally kind — always willing to listen and help resolve any issues that arose! :) If there's one thing that could be improved, it would be to update the kitchenware. the hostel is a small city, but it has everything you need. Staying for 4-6 weeks feels just right.

I had a great experience staying at the hostel. The facilities are awesome and offer dedicated spaces for reading, dining, games, and watching tv all while being in a lovely old, historic building. The work expected of you is very fair and you will be well-trained beforehand. Chris, Hervé, and Virginie run the hostel smoothly and are always around to ask for help or have a chat. If you're looking to stay in the hostel, this is the place. All the best guys!

This is my first time travel in Europe and using worldpackers and I really really happy this hostel was my first location. This hostel is amazing. If you want to stay hostel with a long history, it's the best choice. The game room, TV room, resource room, everything is cozy and comfortable. I really hope to come back here inDBH😘 even though I'm not good at English they always understanding me and caring my feeling. Thank you Chris and Virginia and all the staff Thank you guys🥰

The experience was incredible! The hostel is big, super cozy, with lots of common areas and even a nice space to get some work done. The tasks are very chill and flexible, everything is clear and well explained, and the hosts are really patient. The location is perfect too, everything you need is close by and there are trains and buses to explore different parts of Scotland. I'm really grateful for this experience.
