Help with housekeeping, repairs, decorating or work as a carer
A experiência
I appreciate any help with housekeeping, hospitality, gardening and maintenance... The gardening season is May to September; in the winter I mainly need help in the house, plus clearing snow, keeping the fire going, plus repairs, painting, organising...There is always plenty to do, depending on the time of year, the weather - and everyone's level of inspiration and energy!

Detalhes
Rongahuset is a lived-in, welcoming family home in the small village of Evanger, near Voss. Volunteering here is about taking part in everyday life – helping with housework, routines, children, guests, and practical tasks – so that the household runs more smoothly. In return, you’ll be part of a warm, multilingual home, with time and space to enjoy nature, culture, and village life in a beautiful part of Norway.
I am a busy mother of seven children aged 14–38. Two or three of the youngest live at home, while the others visit often. I have worked for many years as a teacher and am involved in local politics. I also run a café/pub/concert venue and play in the village brass band and the local amateur orchestra. My schedule varies, and life can be busy and unpredictable in a very normal, family-life way.
Our large, old, and charming house has 2–3 guest rooms open year-round, and a small café/pub/concert venue that is open most weekends and more frequently in the summer. There is always something going on, and help with everyday routines makes a big difference.
Volunteers sleep in a shared room (up to 2–3 people) or a separate room for couples. You will have access to the whole house: living rooms, music room, kitchen, bathrooms, showers, washing machine, and Wi-Fi. Parking is free, and there is an EV charging station and a garage nearby. I like to host more than one volunteer at a time, so the house does not feel empty and volunteers have company.
Atividades & Turnos
Volunteers help up to an average of four hours per day, with flexibility depending on the season and household needs. The main focus is helping with housework and practical tasks - normal household tasks and keeping the guest rooms ready - so that everyday life runs more smoothly.
For the right person, there is the possibility of part-time to full-time paid work caring for my young adult daughter who has Down syndrome . This requires a minimum stay of three months and can be discussed before or after you arrive.
Regras
• Reliability and honesty are essential; please inform me if plans change
• Stable, positive, and responsible individuals only; we cannot host people with serious personal issues, substance abuse, or violent behavior
• A minimum stay of two weeks is preferred, with longer stays encouraged - with a mutual trial period, of course
