I spent six weeks volunteering at the Surfbase during the opening of the season. I had a very good time, met a lot of new people and enjoyed the work. I could also often join a surfclass and it was a good balance between work and free time for me. I would recommend it ;)

I had a beyond fabulous time at the guest house! This was my first Worldpackers experience and Cece was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful!! I made great friends and got to immerse into Portuguese life. All tasks were communicated well in advance and help was always available. I am a full time student and had plenty of time to complete all my assignments and spend time in the sun. I've been raving about my experience to friends and loved ones and I'll definitely be coming back to visit!

I spent 5 weeks at the Surf House during the season opening. Tasks ranged from preparing the house to breakfast service, housekeeping, and occasional dinners. The house was mostly empty and it rained often, but surf lessons, bikes, and skateboards were a great bonus. Volunteers had a private apartment with bathroom. The environment is mostly Dutch with European volunteers, so there's less cultural exchange, though everything is in English.

The guest house is a super welcoming place where you will meet great people and always have heaps of good food. The tasks were well organized and the communication was very clear. You will be part of a nice community within Caparica after your first week and after 3 weeks it feels like a home where you never get bored and there is always some nice things to do if you want to join in. Furthermore there are a lot of near by destinations you can visit for a day trip. Thanks for everything and see you next time!

A tremendous experience. The hours worked were reasonable and as depicted on the profile of the position. There were no surprises, the only surprise was how enjoyable the experience was. Being located close to the beaches I had ample time to go surfing most days, some days more. They provided the opportunity for surf lessons which is a great opportunity for surfers! Exploring the guest house was conveniently only a short drive away. The team and the manager are easy going and a pleasure to work with!

Me and Flavia had the best time at the guest house!! The surfhouse was amazing, a really cozy place where you can have a lot of fun with the crew and the guests. All meals were provided and we could use the bikes and join some surf lessons. The working hours were respected and the tasks were really well explained. The crew was the best part of the whole trip, including Bas who made sure we felt safe and welcomed at all times!

Me and Carolina had one of the best experiences ever at the guest house!! The place itself was as we expected, really cozy and made us feel comfortable and safe the whole time. All meals were provided as promised, and we could also join some surf lessons! The working hours were respected and the tasks were all well explained. Last but not least, we want to thank the crew for the amazing month we spent together and Bas for making us feel welcome and for making sure we had the best time! 🫶🏼 We definitely recommend this experience, 10/10.

My time at the guest house was amazing! The work hours were fair, and tasks were enjoyable, often done in small teams. The food was great, with all meals provided as promised. Bas, the house manager, made the experience unforgettable, always making sure we felt welcome and adapting shifts to our schedules. Plus, as an ex-surf teacher, he might give you some 1:1 surf tips if you're lucky! Overall, this experience exceeded my expectations—an adventure I'll never forget. Thank you, the guest house and Surfblend!

I had the best time at SurfBase in Costa de Caparica! The work was easy and shifts were communicated well in advance so that we had time to prepare for them. I was also able to join surf lessons and surf as much as I wanted, which was honestly a dream come true for me! The team was also great: all the other volunteers were so nice, and the hostel manager Puck made us feel welcome and seemed to want us to have the best time possible, for which I am super grateful!! Overall, it was a 10/10 experience and I definitely recommend it if you want to enjoy some surfing and good company!
