Help Us Build a Living Learning Space in Indonesia
A experiência
We are inviting open-hearted volunteers from around the world to join us in building a community learning space (Sanggar Belajar) in rural Central Java, a place where children, youth, and the wider community can learn, create, and grow together.
This is not just a construction project. It is a collective, hands-on process of shaping a space with meaning, care, and creativity.

Atividades & Turnos
🌻There is no rigid schedule here. We value presence, intention, and collaboration over fixed working hours. Volunteers are invited to shape their own daily rhythm, in dialogue with the community and ongoing needs.
🌻Our activities may vary depending on the needs of the community and the specific goals at any given time. Volunteers should be flexible and ready to adapt to changes in the schedule or tasks.
🌻Volunteers are free to choose when and how long they work each day, as long as there is open communication, mutual respect, and commitment to the shared process. Some days may be more active, others slower, and that is completely okay.
🌻Maintaining a positive attitude and a spirit of collaboration is essential. Volunteers should be prepared to work in a team, share their knowledge, and support others in their efforts.
Regras
To keep our shared space comfortable, safe, and harmonious for everyone, we ask volunteers to respect the following:
🌻Respect local cultures, traditions, and values at all times. Understanding and adapting to the local way of life is essential. Also respect for all individuals, regardless of their background, beliefs, or opinions. We value open-mindedness & encourage healthy discussions and the sharing of ideas.
🌻Any sensitive information related to the community, participants, or activities should be treated with confidentiality and should not be shared without permission.
🌻 Cleanliness is a shared responsibility
Please keep personal and common areas clean and tidy. We clean together, not because it is a rule, but because we care for one another.
🌻Respect shared spaces
Be mindful of noise, personal boundaries, and the needs of others. This is a communal environment where consideration and kindness help everyone feel at home.
🌻Comfort through cooperation
Simple habits; washing dishes after use, returning tools to their place, and keeping materials organized, go a long way in creating a pleasant living and working atmosphere.
🌻Open communication
If something feels uncomfortable, unclear, or challenging, we encourage honest and gentle communication. Problems are best solved together.
🌻Presence & responsibility
While schedules are flexible, we expect reliability, care for the space, and respect for agreed commitments.
Our shared space is built on mutual respect, awareness, and responsibility. By caring for the environment and for one another, we create a place where everyone can feel safe, welcomed, and at ease.
