Arriving to El Salvador, Swadhy and his family welcomed me as if I was also a part of the family. Everyone was so friendly and inclusive, and most importantly, interested in all cultures and different walks of life. The location of the house is very close to the central square making everything you would need walking distance. While Zacate isn't a giant city, it has gyms and cafes etc, making it the perfect location for someone that wants to interact with lugareños and experience local culture without being overwhelmed. I 100% recommend and will be coming back to visit my new family soon!

Swadhy and his family were welcoming me with open arms as soon as I arrived. The room I stayed was big enough for two full sized beds and I shared with another roommate who was also amazing. There are many places in walking distance such as gym, supermarket, local market, and I really enjoyed the pupusas, tamales, plantains and jocotes there.(since I'm vegan) My roommate Sasha took me to the capital, San Salvador by bus and it was a wonderful experience. I wish I could help Swadhy and his family with something and I feel bad. I definitely want to go back to El Salvador in the future:)

Me encantó ser parte de la familia el hostel! Orsy, su esposa y sus hijas son muy atentos y amables, siempre dispuestos a ayudar en lo que uno necesita. las tareas diarias son básicas y no requieren mucho esfuerzo (limpiar, quitar el polvo, dejar la cocina limpia…) . solo hubo un día en que tuve que salir del cuarto porque lo habían alquilado, así que terminé durmiendo en la sala (para mí no fue un problema, pero para otras personas puede serlo). en general, me encantó la experiencia de vivir con una familia salvadoreña, los voy a extrañar! 💛
