L'esperienza

We are working to improve the presentation of our community and create a variety of content. No need to be an expert, nor have equipment— no performance stress—just excited to collaborate with a group while playing and learning together. The day is generally super chill—morning practice (yoga, acro, meditation), meals, capture activities, shoot weekend trips. We do natural building, permaculture, fermentation, dance and many other fun things.

Descrizione: At this moment we charge volunteers $20 a day, mostly to cover the cost of the food and other volunteer expenses. This allows us to give the volunteers a lot of freedom, and to put efforts to teach and support them in many ways. This arrangement can change in time, but for the beginning it permits Protopia to bring in more volunteers, and at the same time, volunteers don't need to have the stress of performance.

The reason we require the volunteers to cover their food, is because it allows us to be relaxed and not be so demanding—nobody in Protopia likes to do that. So, the most important requirement is for the volunteer to be themselves and respect other who are themselves too. We keep the vibe very authentic, and we do a lot of practices to support each other in our development path. Once a week we do a professional meeting where we evaluate and plan organizational stuff. Also, once a week we gather for a emotional and connecting meeting, where we allow each other to share and express personal development stuff—this is more of a human connection than a work meeting.

Attività e turni

This position, as any other position in Protopia, is very relaxed. The volunteer is part of the community, and the community will smoothly guide the volunteer to find their own drive and creativity. There is no timed shift. If the volunteer didn't sleep good, or for whatever reason, they can take care of themselves and contribute later. This not to say that we are lazy, it's more that we tap into a flow of work that is not coercive but coming from a place of purpose.

Regole

Few of the rules: 9pm-7am are quite hours in the sleeping area. Treat each other with kindness, and at the same time be yourself. Smoking in designated areas. Drinking in rare occasions, and never too much. Can't think of may other rules, but we'll send an intro package before arrival.
