Our volunteer program in Arusha, Tanzania, is designed to create a meaningful and impactful experience for both volunteers and children. Once you join, you'll undergo an orientation to understand the community, the daycare's needs, and safety protocols. Volunteers assist with daily activities such as supervising play, helping with educational games, and supporting meal times. You’ll work alongside local staff to promote a nurturing environment and encourage early childhood development. The program typically runs on a flexible schedule, allowing volunteers to contribute as much or as little as they can. We also organize cultural activities and community engagement events to enrich your experience. Throughout your stay, our team provides ongoing support, guidance, and opportunities for reflection. By participating, you help improve children's wellbeing and education while gaining valuable cultural and personal growth.


Attività e turni

In this volunteer position at the Arusha daycare, your daily activities will be diverse and rewarding. Mornings typically start with greeting children, helping them settle in, and organizing supervised play activities such as puzzles, arts and crafts, and outdoor games to promote motor skills and social interaction. You will assist with mealtime routines, ensuring children are fed safely and hygienically. Throughout the day, you'll support educational activities like storytelling, singing, and basic learning exercises tailored to different age groups. You may also help with diaper changing and personal hygiene, fostering independence and cleanliness. In addition, you'll observe and support children during rest or nap times, creating a calm environment. Part of your role involves engaging with children to encourage positive behavior, offering emotional support, and building trusting relationships. Occasionally, you might help with cleaning, organizing supplies, or preparing learning materials. The goal is to create a safe, nurturing space that promotes early development, while also providing companionship and encouragement to the children.
