This position is perfect for someone who enjoys quiet, animals, nature, and simple living. Volunteers care for rare and affectionate Egyptian Mau cats: feeding, cleaning their small outdoor spaces, playing and interacting with them. Housework and gardening are also part of the daily routine. It's about presence, respect, and a love of calm environments. If you're a couple, additional tasks can be discussed.

Dettagli del programma

I live alone and can host two people at the same time — but only if they’re a couple or close friends, since there’s just one large bed in a single shared room. I prefer stays of at least 2 to 3 weeks. Longer stays are welcome, but I need to be sure people understand what to expect: an isolated place, for those who truly enjoy solitude. I also have a dog and some chickens. During the day, I work long hours for humanitarian NGOs, so I’m mostly unavailable. But in the evenings, I cook warm and healthy meals, and I’m happy to share French cuisine or help volunteers improve their French.

Attività e turni

Volunteers work 5 days a week, up to 5 hours per day. Tasks include cleaning the cat houses and gardens in the morning, feeding and refreshing water, and spending time interacting with the cats. Each day also includes one hour of general house cleaning and one hour of gardening. If two volunteers are present, we may also discuss small DIY or outdoor improvement projects. Days off are to be arranged together, preferably Thursday and Friday.

Regole

This is a quiet, off-grid home where I work from home for humanitarian NGOs. Volunteers must avoid making noise inside during working hours and avoid interrupting me unless absolutely necessary. I ask everyone to keep their room clean and respect basic hygiene. As the house runs on solar power, the use of high-consumption appliances may be limited in the evening or on cloudy days. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property.
