hi there!! My name is Uroš Ðorðević, im 28 years old and own a farm in a small town in serbia. Ive worked with horses and volunteers for many years before. I just started working by myself, starting trails and i would love some help from volunteers to ‘upgrade’ my farm. In exchange i would love to introduce you to the balkan culture and food. I can show you best places of my area and try to give you a nice experience!!

Dettagli del programma

Im looking for volunteers who can come help me on my farm. Currently, i have 11 horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats and aome kittens, 13 chickens, 4 goats and 2 pigs. I mostly need helping taking care of all the animals and the horses. Experience is preferred but not required, as there are many other tasks to do on my farm. However for those who want to work with the horses, experience is required!

Im sharing the first floor of my house with volunteers. You will have your own kitchen, own bathroom and living room to use. Downstairs is where my family lives, you can always join them for dinner if you like, or to drink coffee with them, or to try and learn Serbian. You should know that im the only one who speaks English, so if you cant speak Serbian, it might be hard to communicate with them. You can always try google translate tho! ;)

My girlfriend will be around most of the time this summer (she’s belgian) and she also speaks english!


In your free time,we could go ride (only for the experienced). We can also go to my local bar and have a drink. You could go for a hike by yourself, exploring the mountains aswell. There will be opportunities where i can bring you to the bigger city for you to do shopping, to go swim in the public pool,…

Attività e turni

The shifts would be 5 days a week and 5-6 hours a day (depending on the tasks)

These are the tasks what i need help with:

-working, taking care and even riding the horses for experienced people (!)
-taking care of the other animals 2x/day
-making & fixing fences
-maintenance work on my farm
-cutting wood and bushes
-collecting trash from the river :( & general cleaning
-carpenter work

Sometimes there will be big projects on my farm. (f.e. making outside stables next to the arena) For this i will need experienced people who are good working with their hands and know what they are doing.

Regole

houserules:

-smoking & drinking is allowed
-keep upstairs clean, you are responsible for your own bedroom. theres 2 beds in that bedroom, if you share it with someone, be considerate and respectful towards them by keeping your stuff clean and organized.
-clean up after yourself in the kitchen. do the dishes!!!
-when my family goes to bed, please be quiet. dont play loud music, dont start vacuuming the room or anything that makes alot of noise, as they are sleeping beneath you.

farmrules:

-only work with the horses if youre told and allowed too.
-always take care of equipment and put it back on its place at the end of the day.
-be nice to all of the animals & they will be nice to you :)
-dont litter!!! if you smoke, please keep the cigarette butts until you can throw them in a trahscan.
- if a door or fence is closed and you need to go through, close it again after you pass through.
