I'm Prashna. I work as a social worker here in Pokhara. As a child I did not have many opportunities and been raised in an orphanage made the difference in my life. Due to the kindness that was shown to me, I wanted to give back to my community and help children in the same situation, giving them a chance to have a different life. Dettagli del programma

At the moment, we have 9 school children in our home. They go to the school every day from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
Initially, your job will consist in helping them before and after school with their homework. As they usually finish their homework quite quickly, you will have time to play and have fun with them. They love coloring in and playing ping pong, for example but you can be creative. Come and share with us what you good at! What are your super powers? In addition, we also will appreciate your help with other activities around the house. We are a big family so we all have our role in cleaning, washing dishes and doing some cooking prep (I am sure you will love taking part in making the best Dal Bhat in town!-rated by our volunteers)

Attività e turni

The volunteers wake up like 8 am in the morning they become fresh and after that they will have a tea/coffee and some biscuits or bread after that their work begins with helping the children with their studies or helping in the kitchen for preparing the morning meal.
The children leave for the school at 9:45 am after that you will help with the house mother for cleaning and other work. At 11:00 am you will get your dal bhat after that if you have some work to do or share the knowledge and ideas together with us then we could work together in the office if not then from 12:00 to 16:000 hrs you will have a free time to explore around the pokhara valley. You arrive at the house at 16:00 hrs and you will have the afternoon snacks and help the children for their homework or preparing the dinner /gardening. 19:30 is the dinner time. after you help in cleaning and 20:30 is the bed time.

Regole

Smoking is not allowed inside the property. But if you are a smoker then you can go to the backside garden for the smoking.
